We're very excited to celebrate the grand opening of the Mini Sota Agricultural Children's Museum

📣 Grand Opening Update!

Mini Sota Agricultural Children’s Museum is officially moving our Grand Opening to Friday, December 19. This extra time allows us to finish construction and put the final touches on our interactive exhibits so your family can enjoy the full, high-quality experience we’ve been planning!

“Postponing our opening was a difficult but necessary decision,” says Executive Director Kari Goldschmidt. “We want families to walk into a complete, safe, and fully immersive space.”

🎉 Our Grand Opening celebration will include a ribbon cutting, first look at the exhibits, and time to meet our Founder, Board of Directors, and staff. More details coming soon!

Thank you to our amazing community for your patience and excitement as we prepare to welcome you into this new destination for learning, playing, and exploring together. ❤️

According to the most recent Census of Agriculture, women make up more than one-third of all U.S. farm operators and are increasingly leading in farm management, agribusiness, research, and advocacy.
The national Women in Agriculture Study will explore women’s leadership and involvement across the industry, identify barriers and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to strengthen engagement and support systems. This study offers a unique opportunity to highlight the significant role women play in driving innovation, leadership, and engagement in agriculture both today and for generations to come

👏 Congratulations to Meeker County’s own Jim Salfer! 👏

We’re proud to recognize Jim Salfer as the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Extension Educator of the Year. Jim serves as the Dairy Livestock Systems Educator and Professor for Central Minnesota; his career includes extensive research, producer education, and nearly $3 million in collaborative grants supporting the dairy industry.

Jim leads key initiatives such as I-29 Moo University and the 4-State Dairy Nutrition and Management Conference; he also serves on committees with the University of Minnesota, CFANS Extension, MN Milk Producers, and Ridgewater College. His programs strengthen dairy farm succession planning, herd management, and training for the next generation.

Thank you, Jim, for your leadership and dedication to Minnesota agriculture. Meeker County celebrates you!
