Today I joined Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Russell Jones to announce the kickoff of the One Pill Can Kill initiative at Arkansas Tech. This is the seventh campus in Arkansas to join the initiative. ATU’s involvement will play a crucial role in educating college students about the dangers of fentanyl and empowering them to take action to prevent its devastating impact on young lives.

In addition to announcing the kickoff, we are providing training for student leaders today that will equip them to recognize an overdose and know how to respond, as well as providing testing kits to be able to detect fentanyl in medications or beverages. ATU will also soon receive a vending machine where students, faculty, and staff can access free units of naloxone, commonly known as Narcan. The vending machine, training, and other materials are all funded by opioid settlement dollars managed by my office on behalf of the state. https://tinyurl.com/ywd3jxpv

Let’s make Benton safer—together. 💙💊
Tomorrow! Bring your expired or unused medications to the Drug Take Back Event from 10am–2pm in the Planet Fitness parking lot.

Safely dispose of meds you no longer need and help protect our community.
And while you’re there, you can drive up for a quick flu shot! 💉

☔ If the weather turns bad, we’ll move the event across the parking lot to the 2nd drive-thru lane at our Military Road location.

Proudly partnering with Benton PD and StepOne from Saline Memorial.

When poison center educators from seven different states team up, amazing things can happen! We were thrilled to share our collaborative research project at the NACCT conference in Chicago, which highlights how educators use data to better protect communities from poisoning.

Even though we're in different states, we're all united by one life-saving number: 📞1-800-222-1222—available 24/7, nationwide.

We're proud to be part of a network of incredible people dedicated to public health and safety.

The packaging of cannab*s edibles look like popular food brands we eat, making them easily mistakable for regular snacks and treats. With back-to-school season here, take time to talk with your kids about these look-a-like products and the risks they pose.

Keep edibles stored away, up high, and out of reach of children, preferable in a locked cabinet.

If you or a child accidentally eats something containing THC or CBD, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 or use the Get Help tool on PoisonHelp.org. Poison Help provides fast, free, expert advice 24/7.
