Our Story

All members of the health care team rely on accredited continuing medical education to help improve their practice and deliver high-quality, safe, effective patient care. Accredited CE/CME covers the full range of topics important to health care—from the latest breakthroughs in medical research to how to communicate with families. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only organization in the state of Arkansas accredited to offer physician, nursing, pharmacy and physician assistant’s continuing education through a single application process and set of accreditation standards. The UAMS Office of Continuing Education ensures that all its CE/CME activities meet the ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support. The OCE may also jointly sponsor activities for CE/CME credit with non-accredited healthcare-related organizations, medical associations, or societies.
