A big congratulations is in order for Jun Plasus, RN, in Hot Springs on receiving the DAISY Award! Jun was honored for his care of a patient whose IV failed while he was out of the room. Jun quickly returned and got to work, restoring the IV while calming the patient and their family and making sure they knew it was ok. Jun made sure to clean up the patient and the bed linens before leaving. The family said they felt like they were the only patient Jun had that day, and were extremely grateful.

We're proud to announce Jenelle Sullivan, Food and Nutrition Services, at North has been named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Jenelle was on duty when somebody left a credit card at the register. Instead of just reporting it to lost-and-found, Jenelle got on Facebook, found it belonged to a patient's family member, and was able to deliver it to the patient's room. The family member was so impressed by Jenelle, and so are we!

Congratulations to Savannah Moore, RN, of Hot Springs on receiving the DAISY Award from The DAISY Foundation! Savannah was nominated by a patient's family, who said she was critical in making sure the patient's home medications were correct. They praised her attentiveness and thoroughness, saying she got them an answer for every question they had. Thank you, Savannah, for taking such complete care of your patients!

CHI St. Vincent Infirmary has received accreditation as a Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications by the American College of Surgeons Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP)! We're also proud to announce general surgeon Brandon Ingram, MD, has been recognized as an MBSAQIP Verified Surgeon! Congratulations to Dr. Ingram, Dr. Edem and everyone on the Bariatric Surgery team for this outstanding recognition!

Our Pet of St. Vincent this week is Cooper, belonging to Priyanka Muppidi, manager of data analytics at Arkansas Health Network! Priyanka says she wasn't a pet person, but then Cooper came into her life and changed that forever. She says Cooper loves long walks, playing with kids, and of course the occasional pup cup. We love that Cooper made his new mom into a dog mom!

We are proud to announce that Joanna Limen, RN at the Infirmary, has received the CHI St. Vincent Service Hero Award! Joanna was honored for taking care of a patient's very big family - 14 brothers and sisters, along with nieces and nephews. Joanna not only provided care for the patient, but made sure every family member felt seen and was updated. Thank you, Joanna, for letting your compassion show to everyone!
