We would like to thank Stephanie Wiseman of Mitchell County Emergency Management and Bill Hoag with the Spruce Pine Fire Department for their assistance in providing us with life-saving equipment and training for the downtown Spruce Pine area. Participating in todays training were residents from The Wylie Building and Spenser Bost from Spruce Pine Mainstreet. We encourage everyone to participate in any life-saving educational classes that might be available in our area.

Thank you to the Little Switzerland community for allowing Mitchell Medics and Mitchell County RACE CARS: Improving Cardiac Arrest Survival to come in and teach a public CPR class this week. What a great class and community, doing their part to save a life.

CPR and Cardiac arrest training at Mitchell Medics will be cancelled for this evening. We apologize for any inconvenience and should resume our regularly scheduled 1 pm class tomorrow.

Mitchell Medics will be hosting their first FREE class for "How to Respond to Cardiac Arrest". This class will teach people how to recognize cardiac arrest, how to activate the 911 system, how to do chest compressions, and how to use an AED.
