We offer Embryo flushing, transfer, cryopreservation, custom in vitro embryo production in beef and dairy cattle and world wide embryo marketing and export.

We also provide small ruminant lap AI, embryo transfers, and LOPU/IVF embryo production. GenOvations, Inc specializes in bovine and small ruminant advanced reproduction – including embryo transfer, flushing, in vitro fertilization, and worldwide embryo marketing and sales.. We also offer donor housing for heifers, cow/calf pairs, dry, and lactating donors. Our mission is to make meaningful strides in livestock genetics through continuing to innovate advanced reproduction practices. We strive to help our clients reach new heights of productivity on the farm, success in the show ring, and profitability for their businesses. We are equipped with an EU certified mobile lab for on-farm flushing, and our facilities are qualified to export embryos to the EU, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, among many other countries. Dr. Nate Dorshorst has been performing OPU and IVF services since 2009, operates a donor facility in Lodi and two other satellite collection centers in the Midwest. In the fall of 2017, GenOvations opened its own in-house commercial IVF laboratory and today accepts collections from practitioners around the country. He remains on top of the latest research in the industry, and can provide alternative methods to flushing and oocyte recovery to optimize results for his clients. Dr. Dorshorst is an active member of the American Embryo Transfer Association, as well as the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.

Our large export project has started off with a bang! Froze 154 in vivo embryos from 13 young Holstein donors to kick off our project work.

This young heifer has 3 of our top 5 spots for most good quality oocytes into maturation! We love making some more Labubu babies in the IVF lab!

I used to raise and breed chickens. I never got eggs from them like we do from this donor heifer. Today, at seven months of age, on her third IVF aspiration GenOvations, Inc, she gave us another 80 oocytes to take to the dishes - DISHES. One of the top 5 GTPI Red & Whites of the breed - she's demonstrating her tenacity to change the future.

After closing out 2025 and reviewing our records, we almost forgot about our end of the year, record breaking young heifer.

This 6 month old, unstimulated, high genomic holstein produced a record 199 oocytes with 167 being good quality and fertilized the following day! 🐄 🔬

Not the best quality photo, but thats okay. It’s a good thing Dr. Nate can work his ultrasound machine better than taking photos through a microscope 😅😅

We had the privilege of hosting some aspiring reproductive students from UW-River Falls on Tuesday. We were able to show them an in person OPU demonstration, allow them to practice on abattoir ovaries, and see a lab demonstration of the IVF process and embryo grading. It's great to see the next generation of students and their enthusiasm.
