RANT TIME!!
I have heard/seen many things lately and it's not only getting ridiculous, but it's getting on my last nerve!
You want changes, do not tell me you can't do this or that because I WILL find a way!!
If I tell you a way and you don't follow through or give more excuses, then you're not ready yet.
I don't care if it's exercises or food intake, there is always a way to work things!
And if you're doing more cardio then weight training and your staying slender or thin, than I can almost guarantee you that you are a "skinny fat"; looking slender/thin but still having high body fat %.
Muscles burn more calories over all, so spend more time doing weight training in the endurance area of reps.
Weight training also builds denser, stronger bone which EVERYONE NEEDS especially in their golden years!
Less falls, less broken bones!
And Coaches, do NOT treat all your clients the same! One client may need higher carbs and low fat with doing higher rep range/ lower weight, and another may need lower carbs, higher fat with low reps and heavy weight.
It goes not only by age but by body type, genetics, medical and/or physical conditions/limitations.
If something is not working but your client is doing the work, then swallow your pride and re-evaluate your plan.
LISTEN to your client!
What works for one may be s**t for another!!
Proper form is incredibly important not only to prevent injury but to get the utmost out of each and every exercise, rep, & set!
Do you know how many "coaches" I have seen with my own eyes or on videos/reels song crap form themselves or having their clients do??🤦♀️🤦♀️
I had one client get pi**ed at me a few years back because I took his weight away and gave him lighter because his form sucked!! He was pi**ed & embarrassed because the gal next to him was doing heavier weight because, wait for it..... she had GOOD FORM!!
You're not always there to be their buddy & friend! To hell with what you're getting paid if you're risking injury to your client's body! Let them get mad!!
You're doing YOUR job!
And if you don't know how to do proper form you need to take some classes!
Swallow your pride and make yourself a better coach/trainer.
And....remember one exercise may not work for every client! Find an alternative that the client can better work a mind-muscle connection!!
The better mind-muscle connection the more the client will get out of the exercises!!
Ok, I could hit on a few other things I've been seeing and reading lately but I'll leave this here. I just needed to set the record straight!!
Clients & tentative Clients - make absolutely sure you're 100% ready! Your coach puts in a lot of time figuring things out. Some times it's like a scientific experiment when trying to figure out a Client's body!
Coaches/trainer's - realize not all Client's bodies are the same. If you're not getting the results you want but your client is doing the work, swallow your pride and re-evaluate!
Picture for attention.
