As a LMT for almost 10 yrs I could never torture any client like this. It’s causing more harm than gd. If my client ask for deep tissue and start tensing up and yelling like this it’s an immediate stop have a conversation so I can better address what the client needs. DEEP TISSUE IS NOT ALWAYS THE ANSWER TO YOUR PAIN. This video is why I always explain to my clients what deep tissue consists of and have an insightful discussion on what would be best. The goal of any session is to HELP THE CLIENT, RELAX THE CLIENT NOT TORTURE THE CLIENT. Not only is this therapy doing more harm to the client their overworking themselves to fast burnout. I would suggest medium pressure of about 3-6 session every two wks to warm the clients body to getting massages and also to relax the muscles more frequently to eventually be able to handle a deeper pressure later. With massage a good touch is going to automatically signal the brain to release endorphins. Which is your body’s natural pain killer. It was also release serotonin and dopamine. When a client tenses up in pain during a deep tissue massage, the muscle engages in "muscle guarding," where it reflexively contracts to protect itself. This reaction reverses the therapeutic benefits, causing increased tightness, potential micro-tears, or bruising, rather than releasing the knot or tension.
Book with the right therapist that has knowledge and expertise because not every LMT is a true HEALER
