A little flashbackâŚand reminder of growthâŚ
These photos represent chapters of my life that shaped everything I do today.
In my 20s, I was diagnosed with Lupus, SjĂśgrenâs syndrome, and Psoriasis.
What people didnât always see was how unpredictable each day became.
Some mornings, the challenge was whether I could brush my hair or take a shower.
Some days, it was deciding what I could physically wear based on pain, inflammation, or skin flares.
I lived with joint pain, swelling, stiffness, fatigue that sleep didnât fix, brain fog, cystic acne, rashes, low-grade fevers, irregular body temperature, cold sweats, and the mental exhaustion that comes with constantly adjusting to your body.
I was young. I wanted to live like a 20 year oldâŚto go out with friends, celebrate birthdays, laugh, and feel normal.
Even in the moments where I was smiling, I was still struggling.
Joy didnât mean I was healed, it meant I was trying.
What changed my life wasnât a quick fix.
It was an extremely slow, gradual process of learning how to listen to my body.
Through Traditional Chinese Medicine, functional medicine, patience, and consistency, I stopped fighting my body and started supporting it.
Healing didnât mean perfection.
It meant regulation.
It meant nourishment.
It meant rebuilding trust with my bodyâŚone choice at a time.
I share this because if youâre living with an autoimmune condition and quietly carrying more than most people knowâŚ
Youâre not weak.
Youâre not broken.
Your body is communicating and healing is possible when we learn how to listen.
