I honor the Lunar New Year because classical Eastern philosophy has deeply shaped how I understand movement and energy.
Within Five Phase theory (Wu Xing), Fire is not chaos or thrill-seeking.
It corresponds to the Heart system — connection, circulation, emotional clarity. When balanced, Fire expresses calm warmth and steady enthusiasm. When excessive, it becomes urgency or burnout. When depleted, it shows up as low vitality.
The Horse symbolizes forward movement and independence. Through a classical lens, this does not suggest frenzy — it suggests purposeful momentum.
At Studio SŪD, this translates directly into how we train:
Strength must circulate.
Intensity must be regulated.
Power must be sustainable.
Movement is not about pushing harder.
It is about intelligent pacing.
This year, I am choosing steady expansion over urgency.
Grounded. Clear. Regulated.
