Today, we pause to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the millions of others who also lost their lives, among them people with mental illness and disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others who were targeted.

This day calls on us to confront the truth, honor survivors, and learn from history. The trauma of the Holocaust continues to reverberate across generations, underscoring the importance of mental health, healing, and standing against hatred in all its forms.

At NAMI, we recognize that remembrance is not only about looking back, but also about building a future grounded in compassion, equity, and care.

As we step into 2026, we asked NAMI staff one simple question:
What’s one word you’re carrying into the new year?

These words reflect intention, care, and hope — reminders that growth doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.

Here’s to moving forward together, one word at a time. 💙

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King reminded us that justice, dignity, and compassion are not passive ideals—they require action. On this day of service and reflection, may we continue working toward a world rooted in equity, understanding, and care for one another.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the NAMI Texas office will be closed today, January 19, 2026. 🤍✨

Winter blues are real and you’re not alone!

Shorter days, colder weather, and changes in routine can affect mood, energy, and motivation. Feeling more tired, unmotivated, or down during the winter months is common, especially for students balancing school, activities, and social pressure.

Here are a few ways to support your mental health this season:
💡 Get natural light when you can
💛 Stay connected with friends or trusted adults
💪 Move your body in ways that feel good
🧠 Talk to someone if feelings start to feel heavy

If winter feels harder than usual, help is available, and asking for support is a sign of strength!
