WINTER STORM CLOSURES & INFORMATION
KMHT will pin THIS post and provide all winter storm closures and information:

*The City of Marshall will open Smith Community Center, 700 Spring Street, as a Warming Center Saturday – Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.

*Marion County Judge Leward J. LaFleur has preemptively declared a disaster in Marion County.

*Due to the possibility of inclement weather this weekend, all Waskom ISD extracurricular activities are canceled on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

*Genesis PrimeCare clinics and administration will be closed Monday, January 26, due to winter weather.

*Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt has announced that due to the upcoming severe weather conditions in our area and the potential risks associated with travel, the Gregg County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.

*The Starr Family Home State Historic Site will be closed on Saturday January 24 due to anticipated inclement weather.

*TSTC's Marshall campus will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, due to anticipated winter weather. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Employees will work remote. Be sure to check TSTC's social media and website for updates.

*Due to inclement weather, both the Service and Sacrifice Museum and the Harrison County Historical Museum will close Friday at noon and will remain closed through next Tuesday (1/27).

*Marion County Jury duty for Mon. January 26th had been canceled.

*For the safety of its staff, volunteers, and animals, the Marshall Pet Adoption Center will be closed to the public this Saturday, 1/24/26, due to extreme weather conditions. For Animal Emergencies: Please contact the Marshall Police Department, and they will dispatch Animal Control if needed.

*For the safety of staff and visitors, the Michelson Museum of Art will be closed on Saturday, January 24, due to anticipated inclement weather.

*Due to the winter weather expected during the weekend, the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce’s Business & Industry Luncheon has been postponed to February 3, 2026.

The City will operate a daytime Warming Station at the Longview Exhibit Center, located at 1123 Jaycee Drive, from Saturday, Jan. 24, through Monday, Jan. 26. The Warming Station will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will provide a safe place to get out of the cold and charge electronic devices. Local nonprofit partners will continue operating 24/7 shelters for those needing overnight lodging. Please visit LongviewTexas.gov/WinterWeather for more info.

Last Saturday, our veteran's programs organized three community events to bring veterans together and strengthen camaraderie. The activities included a Meet & Greet at Golden Corral, a workout session at APEC Gym, and a painting class, all designed to promote connection and fellowship among veterans in different locations.

A big thank you to our dedicated veteran's team for making these events possible!
