🎨💜 The arts have the power to share emotion, stir conversation, and bring people together. That’s why, during World FTD Awareness Week, I’m honored to share that I’ll be serving as an Arts Host Committee member for AFTD’s FTD in the Arts Exhibition at Christie’s in Los Angeles on January 21, 2026.

This powerful event will highlight art created by people living with FTD, as well as their loved ones—photography, paintings, drawings, music, poetry, jewelry, and more.

FTD has touched my family personally since my dad’s bvFTD/ALS diagnosis in 2015. Supporting AFTD’s mission to raise awareness, uplift voices of ppl living with FTD, and accelerate research is deeply important to me. If your schedule and budget allow, I warmly invite you to join us for this meaningful evening.

The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration

💡 A little about FTD (frontotemporal dementia):
- Affects ~60,000 Americans (about 10% of all dementia cases)
- Typically begins in people’s 50s, often disrupting work and family life
- Causes gradual decline in behavior/language while memory may stay intact
- Average annual care cost is ~$135,000 (more than double Alzheimer’s)
- Currently, there are no treatments to slow or stop its progression

Congrats on the opening exhibition of 🎨✨

Kate’s paintings are stunning and it is very inspiring to see how they’ve woven together stories from LGBTQ+ elders and iterative works from young artists in community workshops 🎆

This is intergenerational collaboration and storytelling at its finest! Visit and to learn more and support this work 🫶🏼

Loved supporting at last week, helping to raise funds for the 10,000+ Angelenos who receive low and no-cost grief support from Our House annually ✨

Highlights from the 5k included crafting with everyone who visited the PSD table, petting therapy horses 🐴, adoring the large scale installations, stopping by the Book Nook and refreshing my stationery stash with new pieces from 💌

Spent a day in silence over “spring break” on retreat with my mom and sister 💗 Songs from threshold choir swirled through me near constantly as did the sound of the wind through the trees ✨ One brief blip into Mother Nature is potent medicine, I am so grateful!

HBD to the late great & wonderful John Primeau! Each year, I witness the outpouring of love that happens in your memory on March 3rd and I am reminded of what an imprint you left on so many. I miss you so much and yet your love is very palpable still after all these years 💗 Thank you for the good life and the good death you shared with me, for the path your loss has led me down, and for showing me how to REALLY celebrate a bday (month) properly 🍻 You Are Great & Wonderful and You Are So Loved!

Talking about grief doesn’t have to be spooky 💀💗 TY Contemporary Club Redlands for welcoming me this week!

Together we:
- discussed physical, emotional, social, and spiritual impacts of loss
- reviewed grief interventions on an individual, interpersonal, and collective scale
- practiced full body listening and mirroring emotions
- enjoyed festive snacks and had a lot of fun!

I am so grateful to all who attended for their openness to my presentation and the personal expertise they brought to our conversation. Thank you for the invite and connecting me to this great community!
