ONE reason is because the reference ranges for lab markers KEEP CHANGING.

YUP — you read that right.

There's "guidance" in place to help laboratories set their reference ranges but it's actually based on “the current averages” of the population.

So... what happens when a MAJORITY of the population is OVERWEIGHT or obese?

Nearly 150 MILLION Americans — about 60% of the population — are living with at least ONE chronic condition. From a worldwide perspective, It's estimated that 1 in 3 adults has MULTIPLE chronic conditions 😳

As the population continues to become sicker, lab reference ranges will continue to "adjust to the population changes" and become wider to include more people.

You can't have hormone balance WITHOUT having a happy liver.

🧨 eating processed/packaged "food"
🧨 consuming sweet sugary beverages

And that's where additional testing comes in handy. MINERAL deficiencies are VERY common and it may be what's making your symptoms WORSE.

It drives me crazy… 🤯😳

That SO many people are struggling with LEAKY GUT right now and most of em don’t even know it.

What is it and why does it matter⁉️

Our gut is where 80% of our immune system resides. It's also where TRILLIONS of microorganisms live — including over 800+ bacterial species and over 7,000+ strains 🦠

The GOOD bacteria help us break down our food, helps make essential NUTRIENTS more absorbable, helps keep our estrogen in check, and even helps make about 90% of the SEROTONIN we use. Thank you, GOOD bacteria! 🥳

BUT — what happens when we're exposed to things that DAMAGE the gut lining?👇🏼

Considering the US supplement industry made over 💰$42 BILLION in 2019💰 the probability is YES...

MOST supplements you find in stores are POOR quality 🗑 They contain CHEAP toxic fillers to extend the shelf-life and there's NO regulations in place 😵

⭐️ QUALITY MATTERS
You don't want to be taking supplements laced with TOXIC compounds on the daily. DITCH Costco supplements and UPGRADE to high quality ones.

⬇️ BEST PRACTICES ⬇️

👉🏼 look for HIGH QUALITY ingredients in absorbable forms… none of that fake folic acid 💩

👉🏼 look for specific formulations for what is NEEDED. I try to avoid iron, ascorbic acid, etc.

👉🏼 TEST for what your body actually NEEDS vs. blindly guessing what you THINK you need. Don’t just Google “supplements that help with _____ symptoms.” ❌ This DOESN’T address ROOT CAUSES! The whole point to supplementing is to SUPPORT your body, not increase the workload on your liver.

👉🏼 LESS is better. Take only essential supplements your body NEEDS. Taking more in hopes to over-supplement a poor diet and lifestyle habits WON’T actually work.

⚠️ There’s NO MAGIC SUPPLEMENT that’ll fix your root causes. Always work with a practitioner if you’ve been struggling for a while. It’s EITHER keep doing what you’ve been doing —OR— work with someone to actually GET THE RESULTS you want.

Have you ever been told your labs "look normal" even though you feel like 💩💩?

That you can be "put on 💊 if you want" but “nothing looks serious?”

❌ Don't let anyone GASLIGHT you into thinking you're crazy. I HEAR you and I 💯 believe you.

"Let's keep an eye on it" 👉🏼 let's just sit tight & continue feeling like 💩💩 until the day labs are actually out of range… 🤦🏻‍♀️

Believe it or not, I see this happen ALL the time.

SO many women are walking around with subclinical thyroid issues 👉🏼 either TSH came back within range OR it's not "outside" the reference range to be an actual diagnosis.

⚠️ LOW thyroid function can show up like:

👉🏼 hair loss, thinning, or breakage
👉🏼 always feeling cold

Wonder why labs sometimes come back "normal" even when you feel like CRAP⁉️

It's because blood is a HOMEOSTATIC fluid🩸meaning the body does WHATEVER IT TAKES to keep it as close to baseline aka normal as possible.

Think of it like a HIGHLY efficient multi-laned highway or transportation system with Highway Patrol constantly making sure everything is FLOWING as it should be.

If something enters the bloodstream that shouldn't be there, it triggers an immune cascade to get it CLEARED away ASAP 🚓🚔👮

This allows things get STORED deep within our tissues and ACCUMULATE overtime but that's a whole different topic for another day 🤓

Food is Medicine.

I’m a pharmacist and an integrative health practitioner. I was “diagnosed” with chronic health conditions with doctors saying “everything looks normal” or “that’s just the way it’ll be.” The only solution I was given was more prescriptions. The “one size fits all” approach.

I began to realize our medical system focused on masking symptoms by “treating” them with medications without getting to the underlying root cause of WHY the symptoms are happening. Medications can be life-saving interventions but why should we have to “manage” chronic illness? Why aren’t we getting to the root cause and giving our body the tools it needs to truly heal from dis-ease?

Genetics may contribute to chronic illness but it's estimated that their impact is only 10-15%. The other 85-90% is diet & lifestyle. Rome wasn't built in a day & it's the same with our health. We need a good, solid foundation & the rest will fall into place.
