An impact-focused (think bCorp like Patagonia); venture collective of serial entrepreneurs (enterprise tech, health & wellness, media & entertainment, blockchain, data, gaming, hemp/cannabis, influencers, thought leaders) with multiple exits (philosophy skincare>Coty, StubHub>eBay, Essential Living Foods > Nestle, Kevita>Pepsi, Responsys>Oracle) who are dedicated to activating nature’s intelligence to elevate global health.
We are looking for a well rounded research analyst intern to help with trend research and documenting the competitive landscape. The opportunity we’re in the middle of is one that comes with products and distribution to kick the company off with significant amounts of targeted traffic.
WHAT WE’RE CREATING
We are staffing a stealth-mode health-tech / ecommerce property that is a Joint Venture with a very large co-marketing and co-branding partner, currently commanding millions of monthly eyeballs and millions of paying customers. This new ecommerce property will leverage partnerships with top global thought-leaders and influencers in service of scientifically verified natural wellness.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Projects - Provide support on sector strategic projects involving transactional and investment decisions: defining the problems, developing hypotheses, structuring analyses, collecting data, and communicating findings succinctly and thoughtfully. Outcomes may include recommendations on go-forward investments and strategies; and ex*****on of partnerships, intellectual property, and site selection strategies.
Market Assessment - Research market conditions in local, regional, national and international segments to determine potential sales of a product or service. Perform analyses in the areas of product preferences, potentials, sales coverage, market size, pe*******on, marketing practices and trends. Less on the quantitative side, and more about big picture thinking and news
Customer and Competitor Landscape Assessment - Keep informed about developments in the medicine, natural wellness, health, supplement, DTC, and economic, scientific, political, industrial/international fields as they apply to the organization's future marketing plans. Collect and maintain information on the requirements, organization, budget, and preferences of prospective customers and competitors. Gather data on competitors and analyzes their strategies, prices, sales, and method of operation. Organize information to assist in analyzing future products and make recommendations for the development of new products or services.The landscape is constantly shifting, you will be responsible for following the cutting edge trends and relaying the relevant information to the team
Investor Research - What companies and ideas are the big venture funds investing in? How can we relay this information in potential product offerings? These questions and more will be in your domain to help answer.
Summary Snapshots - Being able to synthesize your research into short digestible snippets of quantitative and qualitative data
Detailed Reports - The markets we are in (telemedicine, health-tech, ecommerce, natural wellness / functional-medicine renaissance, wearable data, unbundling of the family doctor) give us unbounded opportunities. Healthtech, Telemedicine - Experience with innovative models that deliver health services directly to consumers.
HIPAA compliance - familiarity with FDA and HIPAA compliance, including how to manage and build compliant software-centric DTC businesses.
Software-dependent Businesses - a blend of licensable cloud-based software and modest to moderate custom development.
Consumer Subscription Models - web or app-centric subscription models for physical and/or digital goods.
Digital goods - marketing guides, online programs, and subscription models such as workout plans, online wellness programs, yoga subscriptions, telemedicine sites/apps.
Ecommerce & DTC - Direct-to-consumer conversion models with sensitivities around CPA/CAC:LTV ratios across single sku, limited sku and large
