From our origin of PT’s 4 Justice in 2020, we have grown to become The Movement Network. Our name might be different, but the mission is the same: expanding access to physical therapy to underserved communities, and advocating for social and health justice.

We are counting down the days until next week, when Giving Tuesday arrives! The Movement Network is asking for your support on Tuesday, December 2nd. Donations help us provide equipment for pop-up clinics, PPE for volunteers, and cover administrative costs of providing Telehealth appointments.

Consider signing up to volunteer with us! You can be located anywhere in the U.S. to donate your time as a physical therapist. Thank you for your support!

3 barriers to accessing physical therapy:

1) Proximity to a clinic
2) Insurance coverage
3) Financial burden

No, this is not an exhaustive list. There are many barriers to accessing quality healthcare in the United States, which is a reflection of the system as a whole. This system doesn’t change overnight, but we DO have the power to offer our skill set to those in need.

What does The Movement Network do? ⤵️⤵️

✅Pro-bono physical therapy sessions via Telehealth appointments, so that PT can be accessed wherever you have wifi. It’s easy to sign-up: simply complete the application on our website!

This doesn’t resolve the inaccessibility of healthcare in the U.S. but it DOES challenge the assumption that we are helpless. ✌️ Join our team of volunteers or donate to support our mission!

October is National Physical Therapy Month! We celebrate our field of students, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Doctors of Physical Therapy. Our practitioners are diverse and come from all walks of life, and these unique perspectives make the profession a great one!

The Movement Network seeks to specifically expand access to PT services to underserved communities, through pro-bono care. This includes Telehealth and pop-up clinics that are in person. Sing up to join our team of Telehealth volunteers, or work with us to establish your own pop-up clinic locally!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

The history of the United States is not complete without the inclusion of Hispanic/Latinx history.

We cannot celebrate these beautiful cultures without recognizing that they are under attack now more than ever.

ICE is actively separating families and disappearing innocent folks within our communities. Workers face unsafe conditions, and access to healthcare becomes even more limited.

The Movement Network reiterates its mission in making physical therapy safe and accessible to all, and reaffirms its commitment to social and health justice across communities.

Calling all DPTs, healthcare providers, patients, friends, and family- NOW is the time for legislative advocacy! Big change starts small ⬇️

AB 574 seeks to end pre-authorization requirements, allowing patients to access continuous PT services without delays. It will eliminate extra documentation burden for PTs and administrative staff.

Click the link in our bio to send a template letter to Gov Newsom (tag !)to sign this bill into law. Spread the word and send to 5 people - power in numbers!

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate, as the horrors of genocide are ignored by world leaders.

The Movement Network amplifies demands from Doctors Without Borders and Doctors Against Genocide, calling on all healthcare professions to speak out and demand isr**l allow lifesaving aid and food into Gaza.

We have a COMMUNAL RESPONSIBILITY to stand against the forced starvation and genocide of the Palestinian people.

This is a CALL TO ACTION:
• Contact your local representatives.
• Contribute to mutual aid funds.
• Talk to your friends and family.

Your voice needs to be heard - silence is complicity.

The House of Representatives votes today on the final version of Trump’s budget bill, also known as the “Big Beautiful Bill” or HR 1. There is still time to urge your representatives to vote NO and protect life saving healthcare to millions of Americans.
