How do our ears work?

This was a question that fascinated Nobel Prize laureate Georg von Békésy. He painstakingly dissected the structures that make up our inner ears, studying them with the help of a microscope and sequences of photographs as well as by measuring variations in electrical charges in the receptors. His research shed new light on our understanding of how the cochlea, a spiral shaped structure that transforms vibrations into neural signals, worked.

It is an honor and a pleasure to collaborate with the Deafthaifoundation, who will host Dr. Anish Thakkar in Bangkok for his talk on Technological Advances in Hearing Aids and Assistive Listening Devices! This will take place on Friday, January 7th through Zoom / Facebook Live at 5am Pacific, 8am Eastern.

💠It is a great honor for The Foundation for the Deaf Under the Royal Patronage of H. M. the Queen to collaborate with Dr. Anish Thakkar, a founder and director of audiology at the Los Angeles Center for Hearing and Balance in the United States.
