COMMUNITY CALL OUT ❕❕

This camera went missing yesterday during our grand opening of . If anyone da seen it or it was accidentally taken please reach out
ASAP.

It was beautiful to be in celebration and what hurts the most is the years of sentimental photos that are lost.
Particularly photos from my grandmothers funeral a couple months ago. We are deeply distraught by this situation. The camera was last left in the office space. We lovingly ask for it to be returned or for the SD card to be dropped off through the slot in our door. Please share and help us bring it home.

Colectivo Cihuateotl was birthed from darkness, pain, and death. Buried beneath depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation - rooted in intergenerational trauma and compounded by systems of patriarchy, heteronormativity, colonialism, and white supremacy - this work stands as a testament to Indigenous healing, resistance and liberation.

In the depths of the underworld, encontré mi propósito. Healing became a responsibility carried for my ancestors, familia, the community, and future generations. It is in the trenches that the deepest medicine is found.

Our centro cultural is a living offering - created by and for Black, Indigenous, Q***r, Trans, People of Color. It serves to empower our community as they free themselves from deep seated colonial mentality, break cycles of internalized oppression and healing generations of trauma.

Our mission and vision is deeply rooted in the principles of self-determination towards the creation of an autonomous world for our communities - grounded in Indigenous ways. Colectivo Cihuateotl aims to support community members in reconnecting with their sacredness and reclaiming their sovereignty through cultural arts and wellness.

What once lived in our dreams, in whispered prayers and intentional visioning… is now alive. We are officially opening our doors!!

This is not just a grand opening. It is a return to our purpose - a welcome home. A gift to all.

Es el alma de nuestra tierra, el calor que une generaciones y resucita la memoria ancestral. Su llama es portal y testigo: transforma, guía y comunica. A través del fuego existe la conexión con nuestros ancestros; es el ritmo del tiempo, el guardián del linaje.

Huehuetéotl nos recuerda que en el fuego arde la memoria del mundo, el equilibrio sagrado, el ciclo eterno.
