Happy 1st birthday to my favorite lil bestie 🥳 I can’t believe you’re One already 🥹 to watch you grow (in AND out the womb) has blown my mind. You’re the kindest little girl with a literal heart of gold, and the only baby that smiles ear to ear waking up. I miss you babygirl! Can’t wait to squeeze you soon! Also happy birth-day ✨ you gave birth to a real one!

the best part of being a doula is becoming family to the people i serve and having the opportunity to join their traditions. i came to do my first postpartum visit and check on the newest baby of my bunch and before leaving, asked me to pick my favorite work of art on the wall to take a Polaroid in front of to add to their collection of loved ones doing the same thing.

thank you again and for letting me be on the welcoming team for baby Marigold 🥹🤲🏾✨ it’s been an honor

Look who’s on solids now and already trying to feed himself! , my birthday twin and doula baby is growing so fast 🥺

I really love getting photos of my doula babies, there’s nothing like seeing them get grow up. My day 1s! I will always cherish the memory of helping bring him earth side on my birthday. A gift from God ✨

As we end , I want to thank all the Black mothers that came before us including my very own. As some of you may know, my is different than all of my siblings— I was the only one born in a hospital whereas all of my siblings had home births. With me, ( #3) my mom had blood clots in her leg, which meant that the hospital was the safest option for us. Whether high risk or low risk, hospitals should always be a safe place Black people to birth. However, for historical reasons that we are all aware of, that isn’t our reality. What elevating Black maternal health means to me is protecting our right to have choices, respect, and dignity through pregnancy and beyond. Every Black mother deserves to have a protected birthing environment. That’s what we strive for. 🤲🏾✨
