“Let Them” - two powerful words that help us reclaim our wellness journey.

Identifying, outlining, and living our ideal wellness lifestyle is already hard enough as it is. We do not need the added pressure of trying to control what others think of us. We do not need the added pressure of others telling us how we should do wellness or what wellness should look like for us.

When you let go of what others think, you free yourself to live wellness your way.

You get to determine your priorities.
You get to determine your values.
You get to use your strengths - those unique to you.
You get to choose the people around you supporting you.
You get to determine your goals.

Who this workshop is for:

-You are ready to be honest, kind, and curious as you explore your wellness goal

Seeing the loss and destruction from the fires in the LA area has been heartbreaking and overwhelming.
We are sending love to everyone affected by the fires.

In times like this, it can be challenging to know what to take action on in order to be helpful.
I was grateful to connect with local efforts happening in Long Beach yesterday. Thank you, Chris for organizing! A beautiful story of how folks want to be helpful.

Wishing you & your loved ones a strong start to the year.
It’s been a while since I’ve been on social, so please allow me to reintroduce myself. . .
My name is Ayla Donlin. I’m a fitness & wellness coach. I help women achieve their wellness goals & live the wellness lifestyles they desire - because nothing beats feeling well.
I’m also a partner, a mom, a teacher…and many other roles many of us play in life.
Currently, I am in a season of feeling really good - feeling like my lifestyle aligns with my priorities, values, and strengths. Feeling clear, calm, and strong.
I’m 20 years into my career as a fitness & wellness professional, and while I’ll never claim to have it all figured out 🤪, I’ve gained enough knowledge, experience, and insight to have a solid framework dialed in. The best part - I’m committed to continuously learn and improve - for myself and in service of my clients and students. I invite you to join me on that journey. . .
I’ve always loved fitness and wellness, but it’s taken me a while to find the right rhythm and flow.
Sharing some honest lessons from my 20’s & 30’s into my 40’s below. . .
I spent my late teens and early 20’s struggling with perfectionism and people pleasing. Overreaching and overextending were my familiar friends as I worked toward what I thought was the ideal. I did not realize it at the time, but I was attempting to keep anxious feelings/thoughts quiet by filling my schedule and by controlling food and exercise. This resulted in an unhealthy relationship with food, exercise, and managing time/energy. For example, I literally tracked everything I ate for almost 5 years. . .

Living life in 2-3 hour chunks of time right now!

4th trimester is such an exercise in living life in manageable chunks.
Ruby reaches two months tomorrow.
I’ve set up 7 different nursing stations since Ruby was born and we’ve been visiting family while our house remodel wraps up.
Each day is different even though most days are filled with the same things…feeding, burping, changing diapers, chasing a toddler, repeat! . .
These newborn moments are precious. Whenever I get agitated about the amount of time sitting or the challenge of not being in a regular routine, I remind myself that this is a short season and to keep living life as it is right now.

Sharing some thoughts as I reflect back on my pregnancy with Ruby (now almost 2 months old). . .
Body thoughts
Despite going into my pregnancy in good shape & staying active during my pregnancy, I was physically uncomfortable for much of my pregnancy.
First trimester was first trimester - nausea, fatigue, aversions, etc., and I had some bleeding (subchorionic hematoma) that was unsettling around week 5.
Second and third trimester, Ruby chose to hang out in positions that pressed hard on my abdomen - like she was trying to bust out via my belly button.
I know many women experience discomfort in some form during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a huge adjustment - no part of you is unaffected by pregnancy - sharing every single part of your body and life with baby.
Setting up a plan, a blue print, to support my body, mind, & baby offered me confidence and calm through my pregnancy.
I felt better when I moved & listened to my body.

My number one focus during this phase of my maternity leave is to ENJOY & LOVE my girls! . .
Everything went so fast with Lucy (my 3.5 year old), and it was easy to wish away challenging seasons of newborn and early infant life.
I promised myself that I would slow down, enjoy, and savor newborn season with Ruby. . .
I’ve loved watching Lucy love on Ruby, and it’s made me fall more in love with Lucy. ❤️ . .
As the sleep deprivation kicks in hard, I’m working to maintain perspective & to focus on enjoying. ❤️ . .
