Join us for an intimate afternoon at with two extraordinary leaders of the Yawanawá people: Hushahu Yawanawá and Jordão Pekûti.

We are blessed to welcome Hushahu on her first tour back to the U.S. after several years away. She has just completed her rigorous year-long diet of the Runua Xinã, living in isolation in the heart of the Amazon forest. Emerging from this sacred time, she carries profound teachings of forgiveness, compassion, and tenacity.

Jordão Pekûti will be joining her and is the founder of an ancestral medicinal plant research center, Nipeïhu.

Together we will open a sacred space through the spirit of Nĩpëi, Amazonian medicinal plants, and gather in ancestral Yawanawá wisdom, voice, and song. Through teachings, dialogue, and music, we will explore how our voice becomes medicine, how togetherness can rekindle our passions and resilience, and how forgiveness of ourselves and others is a key to our becoming.

The following day, October 29th, there will also be a special screening in Hollywood of 2 films: ‘The Spirit of Tatá’ a documentary directed by Jim Whitney honoring the legacy of Pajé Tatá, alongside ‘Awavana’, an immersive VR journey through the eyes of Hushahu Yawanawá. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH 🍃 HAPÉ & SONG CIRCLE WITH TXANA IKAKURU & NIXIANI HUNI KUIN 🍃 6:30 - 9 PM

Join us for a rare evening of ancestral music, sacred hapé, and cultural exchange with Gran Maestro Txana Ikakuru, spiritual leader and pajé of the Huni Kuin people, and his 17-year-old daughter Nixiani Huni Kuin.

Coming from Boa Vista village in the remote Jordão region of Acre, Amazonas Brazil, Txana Ikakuru carries the powerful lineage of the sacred chants of Nixi Pae and the healing knowledge of his ancestors. His daughter Nixiani, raised deeply in these traditions, has already begun walking her own path as a musician and cultural ambassador. With the guidance of her father and mother Bunkê, she brings the force of the feminine from the jungle, weaving music and presence into a unique expression of healing.

The evening will also include a market offering sacred art, crafts, and medicines directly from the Amazon. This is a rare opportunity to receive the blessings of one of the most respected living lineages of the Amazon, and to support the next generation of indigenous leadership. A night of music, medicine, and cultural exchange.
