This loss hits home, literally. Susan Stevenson is from my hometown of Montgomery, West Virginia and for decades she has been one of my home contacts who has followed my traipsing around the country and the globe, reported the comings and goings back home including news (and gossip) of friends and loved ones who have passed.
She was an Admin for the Facebook group ( Kanawha Valley News), was one of my biggest cheerleaders and was always complimentary of my twin Randy and I from the time we first met her when she lived across the street in the 1970s.
Susan was all about family and was always going out of her way to support the social causes I followed. Our small town in West Virginia, like most in the state, has long had issues with in*******al marriages, but Susan, from my vantage point, was such a wonderful and loving person that she helped to bring many in our community out of the Dark Ages and closer to acceptance.
Susan was just one of those people you could not help but to love and adore!
Her daughter described how her health declined rapidly within less than a full day. This reminds us all to hold tight the ones we love and for those who are physically distant, pick up the damn phone and let them know you love them.
