Eating Your Fruits and Veggies Helps Keep Your Mind Sharp

There are a lot of causes of mental decline as we age. Some factors are out of our control, like genetics or certain medical conditions. However, there are some factors we can control like our diet and activity level.

A new study of elderly adults in Singapore looked at the possible connection between antioxidant intake and cognitive health. Researchers found that the individuals with the highest vitamin C intake (an indicator of fruit and vegetable intake) had a 16% lower risk of cognitive decline that the group with the lowest intake.

In this study population, higher intakes of vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids, and flavonoids were all inversely associated with cognitive impairment.

Cardiovascuar health is especially important to me. My grandfather had more than 1 heart attack and my great grandfather's both had strokes. I started taking vitamins as a kid and I have never stopped. For my cardiovascular system these are the products I take.

2025 KSI Annual Camp and Usana International Convention.

This was my 9th or 10th Park City ( I have trouble counting now how many I've done) but the lessons are always profound and hugely impactful. This program is unique in that the opportunities to learn and the available content to learn expands the longer you are in the program. It is also unique because success is not measured by test scores, but rather by real world results with clients and in life.

This year we had the pleasure of training 2 youth soccer teams, helping develop culture, helping train technique, helping train speed, and doing it in a fun and holistic way. I don't think the kids even realized they were training! It's one reason I'm grateful for KSI. The continued lessons in why team win and why teams lose expanded my thinking. Lastly there was many examples of how to help people that isn't just lip service. The measure of success is not whether a client likes you, or sees you often, but instead it is measured by the result they achieve and the impact you have on their life.

The last thing I want to touch on is the Mike Pimintel award. An award named after the late Mike Pimintel. Mike was an incredible person and an incredible coach. I often seek to model him as a KSI coach. It is an honor to win the award for my 3rd time now because of how impactful he was on me.
