Our Story
It is our belief at Sunrise Community Counseling Center that immigrants, homeless, low income individuals, all families, youth, adults, and the community at large can experience an enhanced quality of life. Our goal is to facilitate the healing process through mental health services, substance use prevention and treatment, and education. We encourage our clients to continue participating in, and contributing to, the world around them. Our vision is to serve the Westlake/Pico-Union community and the surrounding Los Angeles County area with bilingual substance abuse prevention and treatment, mental health counseling services, psychosocial services, and education, to heal and enrich the community’s overall well-being. As one of the only agencies in Westlake that provides substance abuse prevention and mental health treatment services in Spanish, we are able to serve the large Latino community in the area. SCCC is staffed with trained and experienced case managers, therapists, social workers, researchers, and administrative personnel that are bilingual, culturally sensitive, and who are fully aware of the dynamics that culture and history play on the experience, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes of clients.

En Sunrise Community Counseling Center creemos que las personas inmigrantes, personas con bajos ingresos, toda familia, jóvenes, adultos, y la comunidad entera, puede experimentar una mejor calidad de vida. Nuestra meta es facilitar el proceso de recuperación por medio de servicios para la salud mental, la prevención y tratamiento del uso de substancias, y la educación. Apoyamos a que nuestros clientes continúen participando en, y contribuyendo a, el mundo alrededor de ellos. Nuestra visión es servir a la comunidad de Westlake/Pico-Union y el área del condado de Los Angeles con servicios bilingües de prevención y tratamiento para el uso de substancias, consejería para la salud mental, servicios psicosociales, y educación, para sanar y enriquecer la comunidad para su bienestar. Como una de las pocas agencias en Westlake que provee servicios de la salud mental en español, podemos servir la grande comunidad latina en el área. El personal de SCCC está compuesto de administradores de casos, consejeros, trabajadores sociales, investigadores, y personal administrativo quienes son bilingües, culturalmente sensibles, y que están completamente enterados del rol que la dinámica entre la cultura e historia juega en la experiencia, satisfacción, y resultado clínico de nuestros clientes.
