Hi everyone! If you know me at all, you know I rarely ever do a public shout out for a production. But I am doing one now because I need to emphatically say that EVERYONE should go see this show. The direction, staging, costume design, and the acting were nothing short of brilliant. (Huge shout out to Fran de Leon as this will be her last performance before she leaves to Theatre MU)

Putting on my Mythology and Depth Psychology cap, Mariology explores the Virgin Mary as an archetype whose symbolism has shaped and constrained the inner lives of girls, women, and marginalized identities. The play reveals how her image, instead of opening space for the sacred feminine, has often been used to measure worth through enforced purity, demand obedience, and justify structures of power. It shows how Mary’s symbol has been reshaped into an instrument of colonization, whitening and flattening her complexity, even replacing Indigenous goddesses to support conquest. In mythological and depth psychological terms, the production exposes how a figure meant to offer comfort can become a shadow symbol that restricts agency and compresses the soul’s ability to express its fullness.

After many months of reflection, revision, and searching for the exact language my soul wanted to speak, I finally finished an essay that has become a true labor of love.

Reiki Through Myth and Depth Psychology is now live on my website.

This piece brings together the three worlds that have shaped my life: mythology, depth psychology, and Reiki. It explores how these traditions speak in different dialects of the same spiritual truth, and how they illuminate the inner journey toward wholeness.

I was in conversation with someone over the weekend who said they feared Reiki because it could be as intense as an ayahuasca journey. I am not denying that it can be at times. But, the intensity is meant to be met with the training and guidance that come with Reiki.
The art of Reiki, at its heart, is soft. It teaches you to sense when energy is rushing or resting, and to move with it, like a dancer who knows when to turn, when to pause, when to let the current breathe.
The kanji for Ki (氣) means “air,” not the wind that breaks branches, but the steam that rises from cooked rice. Warm. Gentle. Nourishing. That is the spirit of Reiki. If anything, it is about being soft.

My meditation table is not fancy. It is not elaborate. That’s because I don’t have much anymore. What I do have are a few things that survived the fire, and some things friends have given me over the past few months. My meditations are also not fancy. When I wake up, I simply play music, light a candle, say my prayers, and just watch the smoke rise from the incense. In a way, it’s my version of reconnecting with the element of fire. Watching the smoke in all its beauty and mysteries. Watching it twirl and rise, till it disappears into the aether. I know exactly why our ancestors across the world had some form of incense for our gods. It’s almost like watching the mysteries of the universe spiraling upwards into the sky. And yet, all it is, is just air rising from a stick. It is simple. It is quiet.

The anatomy of awakening,
a map of flesh and cosmos intertwined.
The skull becomes a celestial sphere,

A rose crowned heart burns in its chamber,

A guttural furnace of divine current
speaking words into worlds.
The gears of perception spin,
translating pulse into pattern,
blood into light.

The Sun and the Moon bear witness
to this grand alchemical engine
day and night, mind and matter,
united in one living mechanism
that breathes, feels, and creates cosmos.

You are this design.
Not a machine of matter,
but a harmonic instrument of consciousness
tuned by the invisible hand of the Logos,
singing eternity through the geometry of your form.
