✨ A First Look at What Access Can Look Like ✨

Last week, UMMA Health officially opened the doors of the Figueroa Care Center and began seeing our first patients. These first-look photos capture more than a new space — they represent timely care, dignity, and relief for families in South Los Angeles.

As UMMA’s first urgent care center, the Figueroa Care Center offers same-day, walk-in care with on-site imaging and diagnostics — helping patients get answers faster and reducing unnecessary trips to overcrowded emergency rooms. This is what it looks like when care meets community, right where it’s needed most. 💙

Stories are powerful — and thanks to you, hundreds of children in South LA will now have their own stories to read. 📚💙

Through our Giving Tuesday Reach Out & Read campaign, we received over 400 books for young readers at UMMA Health. These books will be given to children during pediatric visits, creating joyful moments, building early literacy skills, and supporting families beyond the exam room.

On November 26, 2025, our Turkey Free Food Fair brought our community together in a meaningful way. Thanks to our UMMA Health team, our dedicated volunteers, and partnership with Food Forward Inc. (), we were able to distribute 35,876 pounds of food supporting over 400 individuals and reaching over 1,750 household members across South LA with turkeys, side dishes, groceries, and helpful resources💚🧡

Gratitude in action 🧡 This Thanksgiving, our team and volunteers came together for our annual holiday giveaway—serving over 400 people with turkeys, side dishes, and our regular groceries.

In a season when many in our community are experiencing real difficulties, we were grateful for the chance to show up with support, compassion, and care for our South LA families.
