Whilst working a fly-in fly-out health professional job in WA mining, Ryan and Julian co-founded Life Cykel in 2015. The pair were unsatisfied with societies disconnect to growing food and linked this to problems associated with nutrition, well-being, environment and community. Life Cykel have been on a mushroom movement setting up Coffee Waste Mushroom Farms in Fremantle, Noosa, Melbourne and Byron Bay. Life Cykel's mission is to inspire new attitudes towards waste products, food production and mushrooms. We believe a collective effort to be resourceful and grow food is what's required for a greener future.

Our Story

Life Cykel was created by two young entrepreneurs - Ryan Creed and Julian Mitchell - who had a keen interest in food decentralisation and community well-being. From those humble roots, the team has expanded - bringing on many new partnerships across the globe and the company now has three main operating divisions. These include decentralised mushroom growing, mushroom biotechnology applications and upgrading food products with functional mushrooms.

The Life Cykel family believes in decentralised, high ethos circular food systems and we would love to hear from you about anything to do with the Circular Economy.
