QueensCare and its affiliate, QueensCare Health Alliance are thrilled to welcome Dr. Erin Jackson-Ward, DrPH as their new President & CEO, effective September 2, 2025!
Dr. Jackson-Ward brings over 15 years of experience in the healthcare space, advancing equitable health access and leading community health investments. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Grantmaking & Social Impact at , overseeing $180 million in funding granted to over 200 nonprofit, community-based organizations.
She succeeds the incredible Barbara Brandlin Hines, who served QueensCare for 28 years. We’re grateful for her invaluable contributions and honored by her continued commitment as a member of the Board of Directors.
As Dr. Jackson-Ward steps into the role of President and CEO, QueensCare and QueensCare Health Alliance are prepared to build on that legacy and chart a bold new course forward.

What is QueensCare?

QueensCare is a 501(c)(3) public charity providing healthcare to low income and uninsured working individuals and families residing in Los Angeles County. It is unique in that it provides direct patient care, as well as charitable grants to other non-profit healthcare agencies.

QueensCare partners with the community, other funders, providers and governmental agencies, and by doing so, develops and implements critical healthcare programs.

QueensCare partners with QueensCare Health Centers (QHC) (formerly known as Franciscan Clinics and QueensCare Family Clinics) to operate five community health centers.

QueensCare has four divisions:

QueensCare Health & Faith Partnership (QHFP)

QueensCare Pastoral Care Division

QueensCare Charitable Division

A faith-based organization, with roots in the Catholic Church, QueensCare observes the National Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Directives for Healthcare.

QueensCare History / Background:

QueensCare carries the commitment and tradition of compassionate, whole-person care, first established by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in the early 1900s at Queen of Angels Hospital, and continued at Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.

QueensCare’s name and current operations began following the sale of Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in 1998 to a for-profit corporation. Because the sale involved non-profit assets, the California Attorney General was responsible for overseeing the transaction. The endowment, created from the proceeds of the sale and accumulated earnings of the hospital prior to the sale, is used to fund program services and grants described previously.
