Been a minute...
Life has been overwhelming to say the least!
Today, I feel hope and enthusiasm after a seemingly devastating disappointment last week in my process of returning to work. I can no longer physically do the sacred, joyful work of being the nanny to little ones. So my safety net of loving up toddlers for a living is gone; one of several huge losses this past year...impermanence kicking my ass!
I let myself have the self-pity for a few days. Something shifted this morning and my thoughts are lighter. I want to receive the blessings of giving, of being of service. and plenty of ideas are taking shape. By "zooming out" of my own head, my own suffering diminishes. By seeing where I can make a difference in my circle and in my community, creative ways I can offer my gifts and skills, and spread joy naturally flow. ZOOM OUT
I'm feeling pain and it surprises me because I was almost pain free for a solid month. I watched my attention start to turn to focusing on the physical sensations of discomfort, and consequently my channel landed on the "it's not ok" channel.
Then, I watched my mind immediately "change the channel" to the "bright side" channel, as I acknowledged to myself that I had gone at least a solid month without the slightest flare-up! I noticed sensations of appreciation and encouragement in my body, as my energy surged, my chin lifted, and my chest opened. CHANGE THE CHANNEL
Now, I'm not able to zoom out and change the channel every time I get lost in my close up or stuck on "It's not ok." The key, I've found, is to accept when I can't with self-compassion, trusting that this too shall pass...impermanence holding me.

what action can you take to zoom out?
(Some days, sending a text to a friend to let her know I care is about all I have to give.)
