The holidays can get a little overwhelming — all the noise, expectations, and nonstop movement.

When someone says “just relax” or “take a deep breath,” that can actually feel really hard for some folks. Focusing on the breath can sometimes draw too much attention inward and end up feeling aggravating instead of calming.

Here’s a gentle alternative to help settle your nervous system:
External focus breathing — giving your brain something outside of yourself to orient to, instead of spinning inward.

Cocoa Breaths 🤎
• Hold a mug of cocoa — or imagine holding one
• Smell it as you inhale through your nose
• Slowly exhale through your mouth, like you’re cooling it down
• Repeat as many times as you like

The warmth, scent, and slow exhale help signal safety and grounding to your body.

Happy holidays 🤍
May you find moments of warmth, rest, and ease.

✨ If you’d like more nervous-system-supportive strategies, I offer private OT and yoga sessions to support regulation and calm during the holidays. DM me for more info

Healers need healing too 🤍
This time of year can get so busy, and I definitely feel it. I love holding space for others—it’s why I do what I do!—but I also know how important it is to have space held for me too.
This month that looked like joining ’s transracial adoptee meeting, having a potluck with fellow BIPOC adoptees, and carving out time today to journal, reflect, and move mindfully with .truebelonging . All of that helps me slow down and come back to myself.

Just a little reminder (for me too): rest and care is just as meaningful as showing up for others—especially during the holidays. Hope you’re finding ways to take care of yourself. 💛

For adoptees, the holidays can be a lot.
They can bring up joy, sadness, longing, and love—all at the same time.
You don’t have to choose which emotions to feel. All of them are valid!

Give yourself space to feel the things.
Maybe that looks like:
• Taking a break from family
• A quiet walk
• Time for journaling
• Sipping warm tea and reflecting 🤍

Adoptees, I see you.
Give yourself some care today ❤️🎄

Many people with EDS/HSD often feel a lack of control in their bodies. That’s why I love showing my clients self-massage techniques with therapy balls — a simple way to empower them in their own self-care! 🌿
Why I love therapy balls:🔅 Ease tension without overstretching🔅 Improve proprioception (body awareness)🔅 Offer grounding + nervous system regulation🔅 Make movement more accessible + supportive
Some of my favorite ways to use them:-Resting at the base of the skull to soften neck tension- Massaging upper back muscles- Gentle release in the glutes + hips- Rolling under the arches of the feet for grounding
Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes, the simplest tools give us the most control over our bodies.
💌 Want more tips? DM me for a free 30-minute consult for 1:1 private yoga + occupational therapy sessions!

✨ Celebrating 2 Years! ✨
Two years ago, I taught my very first yoga class for BIPOC adoptees. I had no idea how it would be received—whether anyone would show up, connect, or feel held in this space. And now… still in awe of what we’ve built together!

I’m so grateful for every single adoptee who has trusted me, shared space with me, and helped this community grow. From connecting with folks across the country to building a beautiful local LA community, my heart is so full. Thank you for making this what it is today. 💛

It was great to kick off connecting with so many wonderful adoptees last week! 💛

Feeling a lot of gratitude to be surrounded by other adoptees who went to Rewriting the Script: Adoptees Take the Mic, organized by
I really appreciated the meaningful conversations about how adoption has been portrayed in the media and what the future could look like when adoptee voices lead the narrative.

Big thanks to for being an incredible facilitator leading the discussion- still in disbelief that i got to reconnect with you again after 15 years 🤯! And always so great to see you again ! Thank you to both you and Marissa Jo Cerar for being such powerful voices for our community.

Chronic Conditions & Fear of Movement ✨

If you live with chronic fatigue, pain, or dysautonomia — it makes sense to fear movement.
Maybe you’ve had times when movement made symptoms worse or triggered a flare-up.

But what if it could feel different this time?
What if you could move in a way that:
🌿 Honors where you’re at
🌿 Lets you go at your own pace
🌿 Helps you listen to your body
🌿 Supports healing instead of crashing

This is the work I love — helping every BODY move mindfully through gentle, nervous-system informed yoga.
