How can you help create emotional balance, improve memory, reduce anxiety? Find a way that inspires you to move.

It's different for everyone and it doesn't mean you have to do an extreme workout. We are not striving for perfection, it's about progress and consistency.

Try an extra stretch, dance to a song you live, go for a walk around the block.

I saw one of my best friends from college a couple months ago and told her I was running a bit a couple times a week. She said "Isn't it too late to start running at 50?" This made me laugh. I had to inform her I run for 20 minutes a couple times a week and my pace is probably as slow as many people's walking pace. I've never been much into running but with wanting a little more cardio in my life quickly this seems to give me a nice energy boost.

Remember it doesn't have to be all or nothing (meaning 5 miles or 40 minutes etc). Pick what works for you, how do you feel during the workout, after it, and even if your friends and others have different opinions, awesome, you do you, I'll do me.

Can we still have a little fun and humor even with our workouts? I often hear people talk about how hard it is to workout. I'm not saying I always feel like it but if you can find something to help keep some routine and consistency that you enjoy, your ability to stick with it will be so much stronger.

Do you find joy in your workout? I'm still teaching a small number of privates and my clients bring me energy. When I see them shift from walking in the studio tired, stressed, dealing with complex situations in their life and then I see them at the end of the session after moving their bodies, opening their breath, expanding their awareness, I'm all in.

A client this week had numbness in her toes from a medication and we were able to support her with some additional movement and footwork and saw some relief along with alleviating some tension in other areas through conversation and she walked out with a whole new energy.

I took a break on social media for almost a year. I know, a long time. I've found this year to be a welcome break and pursued many paths and refocused where I want to spend my time and energy. Regardless of what I'm doing, my main focus of supporting people to feel better in their lives and bodies is always the main theme in my career and life.

I've been diving into Health Coaching both privately and with IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I graduated from 10 years ago) and really focused on my health and wellness. I'm feeling stronger, more energetic, focused and happier. I'm looking forward to connecting more here and will share a bit more of what I've been doing and learning as we go.

I'd love to hear what steps toward greater health & wellness have you been taking?

So cool, thanks for posting this and seeing Joseph Pilates at work training. Sometimes are thoughts and ideas are looked at in strange ways till years later. He was willing to think outside the box. A good reminder for all of us to stretch our thinking these days too.
