LOVE NEVER DIES...
I found out yesterday that my beloved childhood friend, Don Rich, is no longer with us in the physical world. He passed into spirit and didn't want anyone to know.
So, yesterday, a nudge from Spirit sent me down a rabbit hole, and I stumbled upon his passing in his sister's obituary. It was a shock!
Our childhood bond was formed in second grade when I moved to Redmond, Oregon. Since his last name was Rich, and mine was Rice, we were alphabetically tied together for 10 years. The two of us were like brother and sister - and we were always working on some school project together, walking to piano lessons at his house, going to the County Fair, or making paper flowers for the homecoming float or prom. We survived our father's working as school administrators and everyone in our tiny town knowing our every move. (It was impossible to sneak off campus for lunch without getting caught!)
We went to rival universities and lost touch for years. We found each other again in Los Angeles, and the deadly duo was back together. Don gifted me with the most beautiful design work and logo creation for a pet project of mine, and designed the cover of my book. We worked together to lay it out and publish it - and we were creating MAGIC once again. Like nothing had changed.
Don went through a major life change, and left his job, his home and his relationship, and I was there to help him navigate through the choppy waters.
He decided to "travel the US" and took off in 2019 to see every cool spot he could find. A few years later, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and then liver cancer, and passed away peacefully in Redmond, Oregon....where our friendship began.
Don will always be known for his beautiful penmanship (he totally kicked my ass in that in third grade!), his unlimited creativity, beautiful art and designs, being a giant 6 feet, 5 inches, and for living life to its fullest. (Oh, and the JAWS costume he custom made in 3rd grade.)
I miss you, my friend, and I love you very much. I hope you are having a fantastic time in the Spirit World. I know you will pop in during readings and sessions to say, "Hello!"
Until we meet again, my friend -
Tamara
