Jeffrey R Darna - Changing Anesthesiology for the Future I’m am educator, program director, past state president, and a passionate health policy champion. Jeffrey R. He received his Ph.D.

Darna, Ph.D., DNP, CRNA, ACNP-BC, FAANA, serves as the Program Director and an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Program of Nurse Anesthesia. Dr. Darna completed his acute care nurse practitioner education at Yale University in 2003 and his nurse anesthesiology residency at Central Connecticut State University/Hospital of Central Connecticut in 2006. In 2013, he earned his practice doctorate from New York University, focusing on the transition of care in high-risk patient populations. from the University of San Diego, where his research concentrated on the impostor phenomenon in nurse anesthesiologists. His interests encompass healthcare policy, executive leadership, and training the next generation of nurse anesthesiologists to excel in perioperative care. Dr. Darna holds clinical privileges at the VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System. He is a past president of the California Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and has proudly contributed to several AANA committees and task forces.

The abstract submission window opens today (August 20) and runs through September 17, 2025, at 12 PM (CT).

The PDC has improved the abstract submission process, updated session categories, and clarified information for authors. We encourage new and aspiring presenters to submit an abstract for consideration. All abstracts go through a blind review.

The 2026 revised categories include:
