From the day women are born, we’re taught to feel ashamed of our bodies.

We’re told to suppress its natural functions. Fix it. Improve it. Hide the fact that we’re human.

Whatever you are, marketers have figured out how to tell you it’s “not desirable.” Because insecurity is profitable.

Which is why daring to love yourself in spite of the noise is the most powerful middle finger to manipulation.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to Episode 8 for a conversation exploring how body shame became one of the most profitable cultural narratives.

Intimacy isn’t defined by a single act.

What matters is connection, communication, and finding what ACTUALLY feels good for you and your partner.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to Episode 8 for a deeper conversation about chronic pain, s*xual health, and redefining intimacy.

Did you know: 1 in 5 people say they’ve participated in kink.

Which means next time you’re out with friends and say “party of five,” chances are someone at the table has tried it (and a few others probably have too, they just wouldn’t label it that way).

Despite the stereotypes, kink communities tend to operate with very clear rules, explicit consent, and direct communication. For some, that structure creates a sense of safety that’s often missing in more “traditional” s*xual environments.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to Episode 8 for a nuanced discussion about consent, communication, and s*xuality.

Studies show that women in same-s*x relationships report or**sm rates above 85%, compared to around 65% in heteros*xual relationships.

One key difference? Communication about pleasure.

Many women are socialized to stay quiet about what they want or don’t want. But research suggests that clear, positive feedback (guiding your partner toward what feels good) makes a significant difference.

𖤓 Listen to Episode 8 of the Luminescence Podcast at commune.to/lum-pod for a thoughtful conversation about intimacy and the science of the pleasure gap.

Here’s something we don’t talk about enough:

Drug trials don’t represent everyone.

They’re designed to show what works for most people, the middle of the bell curve. But once a medication hits the real world, that’s when we see how differently bodies respond.

If you had a weird side effect, you’re not dramatic. You might just be an outlier (and that’s still normal).

And if something changed your life for the better? That doesn’t mean it’s right for every woman you know.

Healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Testosterone isn’t just a “male” hormone. It plays a critical role in women’s energy, motivation, muscle, and libido. And yet, there is still no FDA-approved testosterone product designed specifically for women.

When women ask questions, share their experiences, and speak collectively, institutions pay attention. Healthcare evolves when patients push for better research, clearer data, and equitable access.

Speak up. The more we share what we’re actually experiencing, the harder it becomes for regulatory bodies and healthcare systems to overlook the gap.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to Episode 7 of the Luminescence Podcast, where we explore regulation, research gaps, and what women can do next.

There is currently no FDA-approved form of testosterone specifically for women.

And yet testosterone is one of the most biologically active s*x hormones in the female body, influencing energy, motivation, cognition, muscle mass, and libido.

When testosterone is appropriately prescribed and monitored, women often describe improvements in vitality, focus, and desire.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to the 7th episode of the Luminescence Podcast to explore why testosterone for women remains underdeveloped and what that means for your health.

Testosterone is not just a “guy thing.”

It’s the most abundant biologically active hormone in a woman’s body, and it powers far more than libido. This week's conversation on the Luminescence Podcast gets real about how modern life depletes testosterone and why women are often shut out of treatment options.

You’ll Learn:

• Why testosterone impacts energy, confidence, muscle, bone, and s*x drive
• Signs of low T in women: brain fog, low motivation, poor recovery, low libido
• Why it’s not FDA-approved for women (and what that means for access)
• Total vs free testosterone, SHBG, and what to actually test
• HRT delivery methods: cream, gel, injections, pellets pros and cons
• Possible side effects: acne, hair changes, mood shifts, cholesterol changes
• Why stress, insulin resistance, and endocrine disruptors lower testosterone
• Natural boosters: strength training, protein, vitamin D, reducing plastics, better sleep
• Why hormones are a full-body system, not just “s*x hormones”

If you’ve ever felt less driven, less strong, less clear-headed and wondered if it’s “just aging” this conversation might change how you see your hormones.

Girls are starting their periods earlier while male puberty is being delayed.

Researchers are increasingly examining the role of endocrine disruptors, chemicals found in personal care products, plastics, fragrance, food, and water, that can interfere with hormonal signaling.

Some studies have found associations between earlier cosmetic use and earlier onset of menstruation.

When young girls begin using makeup and daily personal care products at earlier ages, their endocrine systems may be exposed to compounds that influence hormonal timing.

Hormones are not isolated from environment. What we apply, consume, and absorb matters.

There’s a strong cultural push toward motherhood, but there’s far less structural support afterward.

Women are left to manage hormonal transitions, professional demands, caretaking, and relational expectations often without adequate medical or communal support.

There is not enough care for the caretakers.

Modern culture rewards productivity, not recovery. Independence, not interdependence. And many women internalize the idea that if they’re struggling, it’s a personal failure.

But it isn’t your failure. It’s the failure of a system that expects you to carry it all on your own.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to the 6th episode of the Luminescence Podcast for a deeper conversation about support, boundaries, and navigating hormonal change with community.

When someone says to you, “You’re withholding s*x,” that may not be what’s really happening.

Desire isn’t just about turning the gas pedal on. It’s about whether the brakes are engaged.

Stress. Mental load. Body image. Unresolved conflict. A hard day that never got acknowledged. When the nervous system is overloaded, s*xual signals don’t land. You can’t drive smoothly with the emergency brake on.

It’s not that “men want it more, and women want it less.” Research shows all bodies operate with accelerators and brakes. In many cases, the brakes matter more.

If desire feels blocked, it may not be low libido. It may be a nervous system that doesn’t feel safe enough to receive.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to the 6th episode of the Luminescence Podcast, where you’ll learn the science behind stress, connection, and s*xual desire.

Nothing tanks libido faster than chronic mental load.

Women are expected to do it all. To be the project manager, CEO, caretaker, scheduler, and communicator for everyone in our lives.

But when stress stays elevated, cortisol rises. And when cortisol rises, estrogen and progesterone can downregulate. The HPA axis shifts into survival mode. This stress response competes with libido, metabolic balance, and hormonal regulation.

We’re told to prioritize everyone else, then wonder where our desire went.

𖤓 Visit commune.to/lum-pod to listen to the 6th episode of the Luminescence Podcast, where we talk about how chronic stress reshapes hormonal health and desire, and how to reclaim it.
