BeSound and Alice & Olivia cohosted an evening where fashion and purpose shared the same space.

Sarrah Strimel Bentley, Miranda McKeon, and others spoke openly about being dismissed, being told they were too young, and having to push for answers about their own bodies.

The conversations were honest and personal. Women sharing what it feels like to advocate for yourself when the system tells you to wait.

A big part of the night was talking about how we lower the barrier to accessing ultrasound technology that can provide life saving early detection. How we make it easier for women to get additional screening without unnecessary obstacles standing in the way.

Awareness is where change starts.

Dr. Rachel Brem has spent her life in breast imaging.

She’s a Professor of Radiology at George Washington University, Director of Breast Imaging and Intervention and Chief Medical Officer of the Brem Foundation.

She’s also:
– A daughter who watched her mother outlive a six-month prognosis by 44 years.
– A breast cancer survivor who discovered her own breast cancer herself.
– A mom of daughters with a known BRCA mutuation in the family.

So when she explains the limitations of mammography, we listen.

In this clip, patient advocate Justine Morris walks through what Dr. Brem is pointing out — especially the reality that mammograms don’t always catch everything.

And that’s exactly why BeSound was developed — to help close some of those detection gaps, particularly where traditional imaging can miss subtle signals in women with dense breasts.

Education empowers patients to strengthen their standards and make informed decisions about their health. By lowering the barrier to additional screening, we increase access — and that saves lives.
