But you will get to know the real Nate Parker. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and just recently made a move to Los Angeles. During my twenties it was a growing time for me filled with ups and downs trying to find myself. Most of my friends in my early days would say that I was athletic, popular class clown and outgoing. But I never truly believed it or had the confidence in myself. I worried about what other people thought and that hindered me from my true potential. It wasn’t until my late twenties through starting to workout, my job and the people around me that I gained confidence. As much as Indianapolis was home, I had been feeling the pull to move away and chase something bigger. I got the opportunity to move last year and decided to take it and run. I’ve always had big ideas but never put them into action. Moving to Los Angeles has opened my world up and given me the desire to pursue my dreams. Over the past few years I’ve been thinking about what it means to be a gentleman. For every guy, that word can mean different things. But in a nutshell, I think transforming from a man to a gentleman is just being open to learning new things and being willing to take a leap out of your comfort zone. Honestly, this whole idea of A Gentlemen’s Kit started out as a joke. I wanted to learn about how to take care of my skin but didn’t know what to do and was too afraid to ask. So I picked up some products from CVS and started calling it my “Gentleman’s Kit”. That got me to thinking that there are a lot of men out there that may be afraid to ask someone about skincare (like me), how to put together an outfit, how to cook a good meal for a woman or how to take care of their health by working out; and the list goes on. That was when A Gentleman’s Kit was born! It encompasses whatever you might need to have more confidence in yourself and actually take care of YOU. This blog is going to be filled with everything that a man needs to gain the confidence and become a true gentleman. Some areas I’ll talk about come naturally to me and some areas I will be learning right along side of you. A gentleman doesn’t have to wear a suit and tie; he can wear a Polo and chucks. What makes a gentleman is how he respects himself and is open to making him a better person. Let the show begin!
