Older adults who report being more socially isolated have a higher likelihood for developing diabetes and having an HbA1c of more than 8%, according to a presenter. The presenter, a third-year resident at a School of Medicine in Southern California, said older adults are susceptible to facing more social isolation and loneliness due to aging, loss of loved ones, reduced mobility and other factors. He added that prior studies have shown links between social isolation and conditions such as depression and cardiovascular disease, but data are limited on how isolation is tied to diabetes. 360care.com

Who is 360care?

360care is the largest ancillary provider in the U.S. to nursing homes. Currently, 360care operates in 19 states and services over 3,000 facilities. 360care offers provider services in audiology, dentistry, optometry, and podiatry. Who is right for 360care?

Fit is critical in any career, but especially at 360care. We have a deep-rooted obligation to care for some of the most vulnerable, the geriatric population. At 360care we look for providers who have a passion for quality care and for working with the geriatric population. Many of our providers have been with us for years and feel called to serve. Though the work is hard and often demanding, the sense of accomplishment is humbling and rewarding.
