It is my honor to share with you that Vitality Living St. Matthews has received the 1st-ever 'Best Assisted Living Community - State of Ky.' Award for 2025!

To commemorate this special occasion of the inaugural year for a State-wide award, the President of the National Association has come in to present this award to the selected community. This award was determined based on various criteria that included things such as history of State Inspection performance (Regulatory Compliance excellence), Clinical metrics and local hospital/E.R. admission data coming from the community (Quality of Care excellence), and what is known as Community Integration - online review scores, social media presence, stability in the market, etc. (Reputation excellence).
I'm sure we will issue a press release, and will celebrate this in several other ways, but I wanted to reach out to you all, first, today - because everyone in our community family is a part of this achievement.
When the Association office called a month ago to tell me that the Board committee had chosen us for this new state award, I cried a little bit.
They asked me to not share the news until the banquet happened, and tonight's the night.

My Director team has joined me at the Galt House, and we will be standing proudly, under the flashing lights, standing with everyone from our team in our hearts - each one of our staff is a part of this, each one of our residents and their families are a part of this too.

Tonight they may hand me the plaque, but it really and truly belongs to us all.

The Mark and Larry duo crashed the dining room recently for an impromptu set of duos. Here's us pulling off a surprise Beatles tune request. We were happy to be able to share with the residents. Enjoy - fun was had by all!

Thanksgiving is coming quickly! Please review the invitation and RSVP right away! The residents will also be served a traditional Thanksgiving meal during regular lunch hours on Thanksgiving Day. You are welcome to attend but RSVP is also needed by Thursday, November 20th. A maximum of 6 guests per resident family.
If you are taking you loved one put on Thanksgiving Day, please let the Front Desk know!
Residents will be served a box lunch for dinner in their room instead of an evening meal in the dining room.

We had a great turnout at Vitality Living St Matthews for our Veterans Day Observation today. We were joined by "Kett" and Brittany from Dignity Memorial Community Outreach. They honored our resident Veterans with a certificate and pin, as well as flowers for our surviving spouses. It was a wonderful program enjoyed by all.

Saturday was a great day for a parade in Louisville, Kentucky! Vitality Living St Matthews' bus is decorated and ready to participate with a number of residents riding the bus!

Vitality Living St Matthews had a very successful "Tricks or Treasures " Auction for Alzheimer's on Thursday, October 23rd. The auction raised funds to help support research for the Alzheimer's Association's great work. Many thanks to everyone who donated items for the auction and special thanks to all who participated!

Don't forget! Tomorrow evening, Thursday, October 23rd, is our Tricks or Treasures Auction for Alzheimer's! We have everything from wall pictures, including a signed and framed Derby lithograph by Jeanin Barnhart, small kitchen appliances, antique DYI desk, Zimmerman glass, beautiful costume jewelry, puzzles, vintage items, and more! It's for a great cause, so come on by!
