Tis the season when we encounter injuries from pumpkin carving. 🎃 While we highly recommend that you decorate your pumpkins instead, we know this is a tradition that many of you enjoy. If you must carve PLEASE use a pumpkin carving knife to lesson the chance of serious injury should your hands slip.

January 15, 2021 is a day David Weaver will never forget. Viciously attacked by 3 pit bulls while walking in a park he nearly lost his hands, and could have lost is life. Forced to use his hands to protect himself, David recalled the nightmare, "My hands were like hamburger. I could see my bones, my tendons, everything." Through a series of surgeries, Dr. Michelle Palazzo had to reconstruct his hands (shown together at a follow-up appointment last week). Read the full story about the attack and see his hands today by clicking the blog link on our page bio/web link.

This therapy exercise may seem like no big deal to you, but to David this is something to be very proud of. Hear more about his story and his miraculous recovery from a vicious attack by 3 pit bulls this past January that nearly cost him his hands, and his life. More to come in the next post! 😀

took a very brief lunch break from his busy clinic today, (not to eat or relax, or breath 😀), but to virtually train the medical staff at one of the areas major employers. Proper care of hand injuries is imperative to successful healing and replantation. Let us know if we can provide training to your group.

One slip of a compound miter saw is not a good thing. Just ask Brian Sehlinger. “I honestly don’t even know how it happened. It cut off my thumb vertically from the palm to the tip.” With nothing left to reattach Dr. Tuna had to transfer skin, bone and nerve from the upper arm (also known as a osteofasciocutaneous lateral arm flap). He fused his joint, replaced missing bones and covered the injury using microscopic repair. It’s early and there is still healing and regaining of strength to be achieved, but Brian is thankful. “The accident,”says Brian, “has made me appreciate things more. I appreciate the fine work of Dr. Tuna and the Kleinert Kutz team.”

Carpal Tunnel...Ganglion Cyst....Radial Tunnel and DeQuervain's Tendonitis. You name it, Jennifer Dodson suffered from it. That's why Jennifer was pleased to find a surgeon that was willing to deal with ALL of her pain and suffering...all in one surgery. "I'm a busy person and surgery meant time off of work. I love that addressed all of the issues at once. It reduced my downtime and the amount of time for recovery and being in a splint. I am so thankful." How can we help you? 502-561-4200

Dr. Kleinert. When we say “he’s always present” we aren’t kidding (both figuratively and literally!) When I first started working here, this realistic life sized cut-out that peers from around a corner in the hall of our Administrative offices used to startle me EVERY SINGLE MORNING as I turned the corner 🤣. Now I just say, “Good Morning Dr. Kleinert and thank him for watching over us! “ ❤️ 🤷‍♀️
