Hey all!! This page is only active via posts from our Instagram page, so check us out over there since not quite everything makes it here. We are on a regenerative agriculture adventure to create an organic food-growing and animal-raising oasis. Hope to see you there! 🙂

It’s not staged for Instagram or anywhere close to perfect at the moment, but it’s my slice of heaven after a long stretch of shifts at the hospital. The soothing song of the birds, the excitement of the constant little changes and new blooms arriving daily to the performance. I had to capture it in this moment. The beauty and tranquility of nature brings me closer to God than anything else and I feel so blessed and privileged to have my own little corner of it to care for here.

If you’re missing our pictures and garden updates, we post almost daily on Instagram. Follow us there 🙂

A pretty vignette of golden and red beets from my garden last spring. Beets are one of my favorite early season crops. I have always direct sowed them based off of the fact that they are root crops and never really considered starting them indoors for transplant. According to one of my gardening mentors, this is a very real possibility! He uses a transplant method and has great success. I’m excited to try this method with some of my beet plantings this year. Do you grow beets? Have you tried transplanting them?

If I could only pick one vegetable to grow in my garden, it would be salad greens. How boring, right? Once you’ve tasted fresh produce from the garden, it’s nearly impossible to be satisfied with what you buy at the store. A fresh salad from the garden is something I could literally eat everyday. And look how pretty lettuce can be! 🤣 What’s yours? Could you pick just one thing?

I discussed how I love growing edible flowers in my recent post for several reasons. Other than being edible and attracting pollinators, check out just how beautiful the pops of blue of bachelor button is amongst my lettuce! If you aren’t planning on it, grow flowers with your vegetables. I promise you won’t regret it!

Im planning which edible flowers I’ll grow in my garden this year. A colorful plate of edible flowers, herbs and produce from the garden last summer. The flowers I most prefer to grow in my raised beds are companion plants for my vegetables and provide not only food for pollinators, but food for me too. 🙂 The edible flowers on my plate here are calendula, bachelors button (cornflower), marigold and borage. Do you grow and enjoy any edible flowers?

Garden Sunrises 🤍
I’ll be able to go home again in 2 weeks (I’m on a travel nursing assignment in PA right now) and am excited to be able to browse the yard and look for any signs of spring life. I planted over 70 spring bulbs in the fall so I’m hoping they’ve made it through the winter and I’ll have a splendid display of tulips, daylilies, hyacinth and crocus.
