My name is Tarl and Tarl's Place was founded by my Father, originally so he could help support me. The original idea was a business owned and operated by the Disabled. My father was legally blind, and I am a high functioning autistic.
At the time he originally came up the idea, I had been unemployed for awhile. Basically I'd given up trying to hold down a steady job due to factor's I've mostly worked through since then.
He went through several drop ship companies until the found the last one we had for awhile. The ones he discarded while having nice selections tended to not quite follow through on what they promised.
An example was one company that promised a turn key web store which turned out to be merely an online order blank for catalogs he would have to distribute manually.
Sadly Dad's dream of a fully successful online store would prove unrealized by the time he passed. The last company turned out to have everything he believed we needed, however while we could get people to visit the website and sometimes sign up. Practically no one ever bought a thing, save for my father or myself.
Resulting at us having it running at a loss for several years, with prices usually only twenty five to fifty percent above what we would ourselves pay wholesale.
For the last three years I've spent most of my focus taking care of my father's needs as his health degraded with age. I even ended up employed as his PCA and regained my confidence in regards to holding down a steady job. However during that time the Tarl's Place domain lapsed as did the last website.
While I have reclaimed the domain since his passing, I haven't been able to find the account information for the website. So until I can afford to get that up again, with hopefully a method that will have customers actually buying from me, I plan to use Tarl's Place to promote awareness for Disabled Persons,
Hopefully I'll be able to get the store up again soon. Until then I wish you all well.
Below is the original description as written by my Father:
My name is Carl and I work at little place called Tarlsplace.com which was set up to support some one who is autistic and unable to find reasonable work. I am legally blind and we do our best to support ourselves and not be a burden on the public or others so would you please consider checking out our products and prices which we have cut to the bone.
