This hasn't been an easy decision, but after 4 years without a day off, I'm retiring from the home birth business. My amazing partner will be taking over the practice, and my family and I are moving to Florida. I thank you all for your love and support, and I'm especially thankful for the hundreds of babies born into these hands, in the safety of their own homes. I'll be at the clinic until October 1st, so hopefully I'll get to say goodbye in person. Love you all!

About Jake....

Hi! I’m Jacob (Jake), a certified nurse midwife and psychiatric nurse practitioner in Tacoma, Washington. I earned a doctorate (DNP) from the University of Washington, and went to midwifery school at Frontier Nursing University. I developed this page (and my YouTube channel) to provide information to women (and those who love them) about gynecology, pregnancy, mental health, and whatever else may be on your mind.

I find immense satisfaction in empowering women to make informed decisions about their own health and wellness, and then supporting them in the choices they make. After all, it’s YOUR body, YOUR decisions, and YOUR life!

I’ve been married to my amazing wife, April, for 20 years, and we have 7 kiddos, ages 3 - 16.
