Unused, unexpired OEM products don't need to become waste.
Every discarded sterile device destroys usable value and creates new manufacturing demand for something that already existed. Surplus redistribution breaks that cycle keeping OEM products in circulation while preserving clinical and sourcing integrity.

Every discarded sterile device creates more waste than most facilities realize ⚠️

Unused OEM products that get written off don't just disappear, they drive new manufacturing demand for something that already existed.
Over time that cycle works against every ESG and sustainability commitment your facility has made.

Surplus redistribution is one of the simplest ways to break it without compromising clinical standards or sourcing integrity.

A recall only becomes a problem when you cannot trace it.

If you cannot immediately identify where a product came from or where it went, you are already reacting instead of managing the situation.

In this SurgInsights episode, Spencer Geer walks through how lot-level traceability helps teams stay in control when speed, accuracy, and documentation matter most.

Traceability becomes critical the moment something goes wrong.

During a recall or adverse event, the ability to quickly identify where a specific lot originated, and where it was shipped, reduces uncertainty across clinical, legal, and leadership teams. When that information is unavailable, risk shifts in ways that are difficult to control.

Maintaining detailed, lot-level records across the full chain of custody supports patient safety, strengthens compliance, and provides protection when documentation is requested.

Traceability functions as a safeguard for patients, teams, and organizations.

Storage conditions play a critical role in protecting product integrity.

Temperature swings, humidity, and unregulated environments can quietly compromise sterile devices long before they reach a facility. And in many cases, there’s no visible sign that anything went wrong.

That’s why confirming how products are stored matters just as much as confirming what products are sourced. Alignment with controlled, FDA-compliant storage standards helps ensure consistency from warehouse to procedure room.

What steps does your team take to verify storage conditions before onboarding a new supplier?

Once packaging is opened, certainty is gone.

In this video Raymond Schlechter, our Director of Operations, breaks down why original OEM packaging plays such a critical role in sterility verification and where risk can quietly enter the supply chain.

Packaging integrity plays a critical role in sterility verification.

When sterile products arrive outside of original OEM packaging, questions naturally arise. For clinical and Infection Prevention teams, clarity and consistency matter long before a product reaches a procedure room.

Confidence comes from knowing packaging has remained sealed, untouched, and verifiable throughout the supply chain. That assurance allows teams to focus on patient care without added uncertainty.

How does your team verify packaging integrity before purchasing?

The Power Behind SurgiShop!
Today we’re celebrating Ingrid Glover on her promotion to Director of Accounting Operations.

Ingrid started with us as an Accounting Analyst. She grew into Head of Accounting. And today, she steps into a Director role. A progression built on impact, leadership, and trust.

With over 10 years of experience in financial operations, she has strengthened our reporting, improved internal controls, and brought structure to complex processes as we’ve grown.

Her next challenge? Scaling our accounting infrastructure to support continued growth, increasing efficiency, reinforcing compliance, and building systems that are as strong as our ambition.

Outside of finance, Ingrid loves photography and oil painting, both rooted in layering and refinement. It’s the same thoughtful approach she brings to her work every day.

We’re proud of your journey, Ingrid. This one is earned 💙
