About The Danielle Holmes Yagjian Foundation
The Danielle Yagjian Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in the Spring of 2012, formed by family and friends of Danielle (Holmes) Yagjian, to carry out Danielle's wishes of helping others with cancer in need. Danielle was 28 when was she was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with the ELK gene, one of only 40 people in th
e United States diagnosed with this rare type of cancer. After one year of fighting for her life, including 12 rounds of chemo, 2 full body radiation treatments and a baby cord stem cell transplant, Danielle lost her battle on October 3rd, 2011, leaving behind her 14 month old son Cole, husband Jared of 3 years, family, and many friends. Danielle’s wish was to “Make a Difference” and to give back to others fighting with cancer. This foundation was established in order to make her wishes come true and for others to recognize what giving back to others meant to Danielle. We are contacting you to introduce you to the Foundation and invite you to make a donation, sponsor or attend our upcoming Golf Tournament (information enclosed), or provide any raffle items for the event that would help us with our fund raising efforts. 100% of our proceeds are paid forward to those who have cancer. Some of the things we have done to give back include gift donations to families of the Dana Farber Hospital for Christmas in 2011 and 2012 (and will continue to do so every year); donated and built a rock climbing wall and installed benches at Earis Park in Rowley, MA in memory of Danielle (where she spent quality time with her son); and granted scholarship funds to North Shore Community College to recipients pursuing cancer cures. We have held two Comedy Nights, three hair cut-a-thons, and walkathons that have raised the monies for these efforts, in addition to giving to cancer patients in need, who are struggling financially because of the battles with cancer, as those did for Danielle. Our next venture is a Golf Tournament on June 3, 2013 at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown, MA, which we hope you will be able to attend or make a donation to. Details on the event are enclosed for your
consideration. If you have any questions, please contact Irene Winter (Danielle’s aunt) at 978-532-4554 or
iwinter105@hotmail.com. Our tax ID # is 043-407-816. Many thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Sincerely,
The Danielle Yagjian Foundation Committee
