Snohomish County Purse Project Community helping community distribute essential needs to the homeless of S. Snohomish County, WA. Please see our ABOUT section for how you can help!

=== Please click "See More" below for our MASTER NEEDS list! ===

As of now, we are set up to distribute donations every 3rd Saturday of each month at Trinity Lutheran Church (6215 196th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036) along side the "Neighbors in Need" organization. We are not affiliated with Neighbors in Need but rather blessed that they've accepted our presence during their weekly outreach program. Please visit their website at http://neighbors-in-need.com/ for more information about what they do! If you have any of the items listed on the MASTER NEEDS list below that you would like to donate, please contact us at via Message here or via email to givingback2snoco@gmail.com so we can arrange pick-up from you. We also have two donation drop-off locations in both North and South Lynnwood! Please note that this list may change as we progress. We are always open to suggestions on additions. If we have a specific need or something that we are low on, we will post it on the main page feed. Thank you so much in advance for your generous donations!

The Snohomish County Purse Project is, for now, a small team of dedicated community members just looking to reach-out and make a difference. We are busy moms first and foremost. While we are in the process of researching, we are NOT at this time an accredited non-profit 501c3 and therefore cannot provide a tax receipt. We do NOT accept or solicit monetary donations.

Hello friends! It's been a very long time since we've posted here.

I took a break from the project to work on some personal things. I also decided I wasn't going to do an event until I had received at least 15 backpacks for the men, as I've been out of men's bags since the December event.

Well, we had the amazing luck of receiving 17 male backpacks!

Now we can begin prepping for an event. I'm hoping to be ready by the last week of September.

As of right now, I am not posting in search of donations, besides backpacks of course. Before I can start collecting donations, I'll need help sorting and organizing our current inventory.

If you would like to help, please comment here or send a private message to this page.

As always, I am so grateful for the support and love.

December 24th 2016 event day

Event day was a complete success! We changed things up a bit. This event was all about warmth. We gave away hats, gloves, socks, scarves, and heat giving care kits. The care kits included things like a survival blanket, hot cocoa, hot hands, tea bags, chapstick etc.

We were open to sheltered and unsheltered alike for this event. Everyone deserves to be warm. ♡

Thank you so much to each and every person who donated to me over the last year. None of this, not a single moment, would be possible without you and your donations. I am forever grateful. I couldn't do any of this without your help and support.

This weekend I picked up a huge donation from Demetria Lund with Beautiful Soles. These were donations she was passing on to me from MoreLove.

I recieved 2 huge boxes stuffed to the brim with blessing bags. I don't have an official count yet but there is well over 100 of them!

Thank you so much to MoreLove and to Demetria Lund and Beautiful Soles!

*Apologies for the terrible picture lol

Demetria Lund with Beautiful Soles is doing amazing things for homeless and low income children year round. Please visit the link for information on how to help.

Please read/share/help!

Please donate!!!

FREEZING temperatures are here and calls to Beautiful Soles for assistance are on the rise!

Even when we as adults are bundled up we can feel how sharp the coldness can be - icy fingers, frozen toes, runny noses.

Now please picture this:

It's 28 degrees outside and your a 8 year old homeless or low income child waiting for your school bus. Your feet are beginning to tingle and throb again just like yesterday morning. Your shoes have holes in the soles so there is no insulation, the cold begins to seep through your little bones. The frost from the grass has made your thin socks wet making you shiver even more.

Even at school you can't seem to warm up and your socks never seem to dry. You try to focus on school but can't because your feet physically hurt from the biting cold. Your embarrassed to tell your teacher because you don't want her to know your homeless or poor. You try to hide your shoes from the curious eyes of your playmates who are wearing warm boots.

When you get home or to the shelter (or even where you sleep in a car or RV), your mom hugs you after she takes your still wet socks off and tries to warm your feet with her trembling hands. Her mama heart hurts so bad because she doesn't have a extra dollar to buy new shoes for her child. And this darn near shatters her.

THIS is the sad reality for the kids Beautiful Soles serves. We see it weekly. Sometimes every day.

When you donate new warm shoes and socks or provide financial support, you can be sure that more children in OUR community like this child, WILL face winter with warm, dry feet.

Beautiful Soles humbly asks you to help us feel this need today.

You can donate via PayPal at beautifulsoles@outlook.com or our secure webpage at beautifulsoles.org

The November event was a compete success!
We provided bags for 58 people!

This event was a lot of fun. I'm so blown away by the people we help. The weather is colder, life gets increasingly more difficult for them the colder it gets. Yet there was laughter and joy, smiles and hugs, and excitement for the upcoming holidays.
It truly is an inspiration to me, to see these people staying positive and keep fighting for a better life for themselves.
Sometimes I'm not sure who is helping who.
We cannot wait for the December event!

*Apologies for the late update. We've been busy prepping for the holidays! ♡

Happy Halloween friends! The October event was on Saturday and it was incredible! I believe it was our most successful event to date!

This month we were able to serve 38 men and 36 women for a grand total of 74 guests!

My good friends Tracy Reeves and Alli Dawn joined me at the church. They both did an amazing job. This event would not have been so successful without them.

Thank you all so much for your support and all of the amazing donations. Every last one of you made a difference in someone's life. Each of you made someone feel good. That's exactly what this project is about.

Wow, we've been very busy this last week making care packs and prepping for the October event! - EDIT Event day is on Saturday October 29th.

I've been able to make quite a few care packs with the donations we've recieved so far! We have enough supplies to make 4 more care packs. We will need about 20 more care packs to be fully stocked for the event.

To make more we need the following items:

Kleenex
Bandaids
Dental floss or flossers
Deoderant (for both genders or gender neutral)
Travel/hotel soaps
2 oz travel bottles (for filling with bulk shower supplies)
Hot Hands/Little Hotties Handwarmers

Hot chocolate packets
Drink mix packets
Instant oatmeal packets
Cup O Noodle
Snacks such as:
-protein bars
-cereal bars
-granola bars
-crackers
- mini peanut butter
and more

And as always, you don't have to donate to help! You can like the page, share the updates and tell your friends and family about us.

And one last thing. We need one volunteer to assist at the church on event day.

If you can help, please feel free to comment here, send us a message, email us at
Givingback2snoco@gmail.com
or contact founder Stephanie Johnson.

Thank you and have a beautiful day!
