Our Story

Are your allergies getting the best of you? Or maybe your asthma is acting up again. Whether you need allergy testing or asthma treatments, Allergy & Asthma Clinic of Macon in Georgia is here to help. Led by Dr. David T. Plaxico, this qualified allergist and his support staff specialize in treating asthma and other illnesses caused by allergens. Dr. Plaxico performs various examinations to test for numerous allergy and asthma-related illnesses. These exams include: Prick test: This exam requires tiny pricks on your arm or back to see if there’s a reaction to suspected allergens. Intradermal test: This is performed on your arms and is an injection under the surface of the skin. Patch test: The patch test is used to help determine allergens that may take longer to affect the body, such as chronic dermatitis, itching, or hives. After Dr. Plaxico determine your allergic factors, he may recommend you receive weekly allergy shots or immunotherapy to manage your symptoms. For asthma patients, they may perform a pulmonary function test to gauge your breathing process and determine where to start your medical treatment. No matter your allergen, the Dr. Plaxico will find the best solution for you and your needs. This team’s number one concern is your overall health and wellness. Their fragrance-free facility helps prevent perfume or cologne from affecting your allergy testing, ensuring accurate results. Some laboratory work is done on-site while other lab work is performed through connections with nearby labs. Either way, Dr. Plaxico works hard to ensure you get your results in a timely manner. Allergy & Asthma Clinic of Macon has the answers to your allergy and asthma-related problems. Count on them for compassionate, personalized care that meets your specific needs and condition. Call them today at (478) 743-9376 to schedule an appointment for your allergy testing. You can also visit them online for more information on their practice.
