Ashley Schlender from Jefferson County Farm Bureau and YFA represents District 1 on Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Promotion and Engagement Committee.

Ashley and her family own and operate a robotic dairy farm and custom chopping business in Watertown. From a young age, agriculture has been an important aspect of Ashley’s life as she grew up on a dairy farm and showed cows and horses at local and state fairs. This prior experience has led her to share her love of agriculture by educating others through various roles, such as 4-H general leader and summer intern, teacher, Jefferson County Farm Bureau volunteer, school volunteer, dairy project leader and more.

Thank you for your dedication to the P&E committee, Ashley!

Congratulations to our 2026 Farm Neighbors Care Grant Recipients!

Across our counties, incredible groups are stepping up to remind farmers and families that they are seen, valued and supported.

This year’s funded projects include:

☕ Delivering coffee, donuts and bag lunches during planting season
🏃 Hosting a “Thank a Farmer Run” to personally visit and thank local farms
🎁 Hand-delivering care packages to brighten long winter days
🍕 Bringing farmers together for pizza, camaraderie and conversations
🎓 Sending care packages to collegiate ag students to bridge the gap between campus and home
🎉 Hosting Farm City events to connect rural and non-farm communities
🧠 Providing mental health resources and even wrapping a sheriff’s vehicle to raise awareness

Thank you to these counties, FFA members, 4-H youth, Farm Bureau boards and volunteers who are turning compassion into action.

Special thanks to McCade's Joyride and Federated Youth Foundation for their support of Farm Neighbors Care.
