We are still feeling the energy from the 3rd Annual Madison Chamber of Commerce Heartbeat of Healthcare event! ❤️

Our President Mary Lynne Wright, Emergency Department Medical Director Dr. Jeff Johnson, and Senior VP of Physician Services Josh Hewiett were honored to share some exciting updates on how we are growing to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding community. 🚀

🩺 ER Enhancements: We just added 6 new ER treatment rooms, with even more treatment and diagnostic space on the drawing board to further reduce wait times and improve care.

🦺 The Wellness Center Transformation: The former Madison Hospital Wellness Center on our campus is being reimagined as a premier outpatient facility offering:

🩻 Advanced diagnostic imaging and lab patient service center.
💊 A brand-new Huntsville Hospital retail pharmacy.
🔬 An expanded Breast Center.
🫁 New-to-Madison cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs.

🪡 Surgery Surge: With more and more Madison residents asking to stay close to home for surgeries and procedures, we will soon start construction on our 8th Operating Room.

🚑 ICU On Wheels: Our new “MAC 1” acute care transport ambulance is standing by to whisk critically ill patients to Huntsville Hospital if they need a higher level of care not available in Madison.

📈 The Big Vision: Looking ahead to the next decade, we are planning a massive expansion of the hospital itself—growing from our current 90 beds to 200 beds!

We are so proud to be a part of this vibrant city. Thank you, Madison Chamber, for your unwavering support of health care excellence. Together, we are keeping the "heartbeat" of Madison stronger than ever!

About 1 in 5 colorectal cancer cases now occur in people 54 or younger, and the disease often shows no symptoms until it has spread. That’s why the American Cancer Society recommends regular screening for people at average risk beginning at age 45.

Our annual event is a timely reminder to get screened. Colleen, a larger-than-life inflatable colon, helps educate and empower our community about colorectal health.

With March recognized as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, there’s no better time to make a plan. Talk to your doctor and schedule a colorectal cancer screening test today.

Being a Highly Reliable Organization means we never take a "routine" task for granted. Today, we are proud to recognize Emergency Department RN Andrew Clem for his incredible vigilance and commitment to patient safety.

While preparing for a patient’s care, Andrew had a true STAR moment (Stop, Think, Act, Review). ⭐ He noticed that an incorrect IV fluid had been stocked in the medication room. Rather than moving forward, he double-checked the fluid before it ever reached the patient and immediately alerted Pharmacy to fix the issue.

Because of Andrew’s attention to detail, a potential error was prevented before it could start. Thank you, Andrew, for being a champion for our patients and a true HRO Hero! 🛡️🏥

Big cheers for one of Madison Hospital’s finest! 🏆✨

We are excited to announce that Imani Craft, a Health Care Assistant in our Acute Surgical Care Unit, is the latest recipient of the Making a Difference (MADI) Award!

Imani’s coworkers showered her with nominations, and it’s easy to see why. Whether she’s streamlining the unit's organization or providing deeply personal patient care, Imani embodies what it means to go above and beyond.

Recently, Imani spent two shifts building trust with a dementia patient who was resistant to care. Through her patience and persistence, she successfully helped the patient shower—allowing them to maintain their dignity and comfort.

Her teammates say they rarely have to ask Imani for help because "it’s already been taken care of." From organizing supplies to innovating new ways to help the unit run smoothly, she is the definition of a team player.

Imani, thank you for your dedication, your empathy, and for making Madison Hospital a better place every single day. We are so proud to have you on our team! ❤️

We are bursting with pride for our friends at Ryker's Rainbow! 🌈They just received an Alabama Hospital Association Special Citation Award for exceptional contributions to health care.🏆

Founded in 2020 by Huntsville residents Lacey and Hans Schoff in memory of their son, Ryker, this incredible nonprofit has become a beacon of hope for hundreds of families navigating the devastating loss of a pregnancy, infant or child. 👼

To date, Ryker’s Rainbow has provided about 850 "blessing boxes" to our hospital and other HH Health facilities across the region. Each box contains keepsakes, self-care items and memory-making tools to help families process their grief and know they are not alone. 🤝

Please join us in congratulating the Schoff family and the entire Ryker’s Rainbow team on this well-deserved statewide honor! Thank you for the extraordinary compassion you bring to our community every day. ❤️
