Siblings grow up in the shadows sometimes but they also grow in compassion, resilience, maturity, and empathy that you can’t teach in books or classes. They see the world with different eyes. They learn to advocate, to adjust, to give, to love without conditions. Those traits don’t happen by accident, they happen because of the environment you created and the heart you modeled.
You didn’t deprive them.
You gave them a front-row seat to humanity.
And yes, sometimes they went without attention. That’s real. And it’s okay to acknowledge the hard without rewriting the whole story. The fact that you care now means you can repair, reconnect, and pour into them in ways they’ll remember too.
