The engine under the hood at Path Recovery. Our Chief Operations Officer/Clinical Administrator Dr. Julie Eberwein!
“My name is Dr. Julie Eberwein. My formal education began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Florida, leading to a Master of Arts in Counseling/Art Therapy from Norwich University. My career found its footing serving disenfranchised populations stricken with poverty, homelessness, incarceration, untreated addictions and mental illness. I have since held executive, leadership roles in for profit and not-for-profit behavioral health organizations throughout the state of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, North Carolina, California, and Massachusetts. In addition, I have spent more than 30 years consulting and training staff from organizations all over the nation, utilizing dynamic and cutting-edge approaches to programming, service delivery, supervision, treatment, and research. In 2011, I earned my Doctorate Degree in Psychology with a Forensic focus from the Miami Institute of Psychology and Capella University. My doctoral research focused on co-occurring disorders and the criminal justice system. From 1999 to 2013, I also served as an adjunct professor of Psychology, Human Services, Women’s Studies, and Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida and Seminole State. In my relentless pursuit of excellence, I have also obtained the following certifications and licenses: Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Certified Addiction Professional (CAP), Criminal Justice Addiction Professional (CCJAP), Certified Addiction Prevention Professional (CPP), Certified E-Therapist (CET), and Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor (CCFC).
At the suggestion and encouragement of my clients (business leaders), I spend a lot of my professional time consulting for organizations and providing executive coaching, helping to start and shape a new direction in behavioral healthcare. I continue to provide face-to-face and virtual clinical services to individuals and couples with a variety of challenges. My focus on clinical care is collaborative, creative, and intentional.
I have been recognized across the country as an innovative and results-driven leader, and as the driving force behind the successful outcomes experienced by not only the exceptional behavioral health organizations I have served, but by the patients and families involved in services I have delivered. As a highly regarded professional in the behavioral health industry, I am known for my ability to make a difference in people’s lives. I have and will continue to be an agent of change in lives broken and shattered by mental illness, addiction, and trauma.
It is an exciting time to be a behavioral healthcare provider, as the industry moves to more integrated and evidence-based service expectations. It’s a systematic attempt to deliver efficient, cost-effective, multidisciplinary treatment that is patient/consumer centric and outcome driven. You may have to suspend disbelief, but all things are possible when we work together!”
